TM3 performance and iX3 are cars with absolutely different pricetag. That is what I spoke about - when you pay so much for a Porsche, you would probably expect something special. That is why I went for version with push to pass and active ride. I did not want to live in the situation when we pay soo much for base model and then say - hmm, but its almost the same as other much cheaper suvs. But honestly, in the beginng I also wanted to buy the base one. But then driving hundrets kms with Macan 4S I knew its perfect and I do not want something quite slower.

but its subjective, I do absolutely agree. Everyone can buy whatever he/she wants for their money :)
The Macan 4S is an absolute no brainer, had two (both lemons due to electrical gremlins unfortunately), and well worth 2k extra (with my spec) as compared to Macan 4. Ordered GTS (just for the looks) to replace but switched to Cayenne base immediately after press release. In most cases S is the Goldilocks car and the car Porsche intended to build. Wished for more HP (probably many Cayenne base customers do as well) but price gap is just not justifiable for my use.

Everyone is entitled to have a different opinion and need for exceptional acceleration. In my case I‘m buying a Cayenne for it being a luxury and easily accessible SUV type car, not for exceptional acceleration. That said, the Cayenne EV Coupe is faster 0 to 60 & 49 to 74 mph than a current Cayenne S ICE - which was never considered to be a slouch. The era of EV’s has brought with it exceptional acceleration with the result that SUV’s have better 0 to 60 times than an M5.

Insurance is becoming a real issue in the UK - Matt-Taycan tried to get a quote for a Turbo and Porsche Insurance declined to quote as he didn’t have ‘bollards or a gate’. Other insurance companies are quoting Base & ‘S’ but not Turbo’s. Insurance in other countries may of course be different.

In the UK, drivers and driving are very real targets for easy income, mostly controlled by cameras and so the likelihood of ‘points’ on the license is greater than it has ever been - and one thing for sure is that points make the insurance policies far more expensive or even unavailable.

I certainly see your reason for wanting “push to pass” and greater acceleration but in my case it’s not worth at least the extra £ 15k and added insurance, when so many of our motorways have cameras and urban areas are becoming 20 mph minefields. Also, I buy my cars so residuals are a consideration - I think the depreciation on a Turbo and even the S will be a greater % than a base.

All of that ignores that my thoughts would have been entirely with your view some 15 years ago !

We'll that was the main point for me - the luxorious and comfortable. Thus I decided for an active ride. If base model offeres the active ride I would buy that version I think.

I think there may be a lot of buyers wanting active ride so Porsche earn a lot more keeping it exclusive to the more expensive models.
