I agree that it’s too pricey. It basically has no extra equipment, just a little more power, and is almost €20K more expensive than the base model (Swedish configurator. In that case, I’d rather just go for the Turbo instead or wait for the GTS.

Its a lot of ££££s for a software switch to release more power unless these are different motors.

Curiously it is 20Kg heavier - different alloys / bigger rear motor (detuned Turbo) (?), slightly better range.

Curious about this new model...I have the base Cayenne model ordered. Think I'm gonna switch to the S as long as the delivery date is not pushed back to far. Have a email into my dealer. Fingers crossed.

The perils of pulling the trigger too soon - the S (and GTS) were always going to surface. I suspect there will be separate allocations for this model so you should get lucky.

So this or stump up for the Turbo. As someone said its a big hike from the Base Model, but then its also a big hike to the turbo. For me in the UK £25k for matching spec S to matching spec Turbo.... but then the bragging rights. Although, I notice there is slighly less boot (trunk) space - is that the bigger motor?

Depends on timing but once again the sweet spot will be the GTS when released - 18 months out is my guess. Add £10K to the S and you'll be close. Either way a lot of rent but supercar performance that you can't really use.

Space - could be the reason suggested.

If worried about bragging - debadging is your friend, just make sure you have the big alloys to keep folk guessing. Sad folk will notice the absence of the PAA plastic deployable flaps at the rear to denote "Turbo".

My dealer just responded....the S will not be released until after the base and turbo have started delivery. Likely late this year or early next. Sticking with my base and maybe later get the S or GTS.

S has oil cooled rear motor. Guess it's the same as turbo but different inverter. Like Macan, S has different rear layout. S and GTS will be there cash cows. Taycan S and Cayenne S are fairly similar priced, standard Cayenne in comparison appears subsidised.

S is priced fairly in terms of Porsche, base model isn't. Cayenne is neither a sports car (to big, to heavy) nor are electric cars build for long distance travel at high speed (Germany). Only makes sense (well, none of us is buying a Porsche because it makes sense) if you want active ride IMHO, which seems to be amazing.

Yeah, logic maybe isn’t the first thing in our minds 😂
Maybe you are right if there is a different oil cooled motor etc, just felt like a massive jump with £16-17k difference without any added options whatsoever.

Have a look at Taycan, baseline Cayenne seems subsidised. Good for us.

Contrary to what a dealer told a forum member as quoted above in post # 8, that is the dealer reporting that “deliveries start at that end of this year or early next, “per the official Porsche pressroom site yesterday for Cayenne S model reveal…,

“Deliveries are expected to begin at the end of Summer 2026.“

The Turbo has less boot space than the base model and the S because it comes with BOSE as standard, and the subwoofer is in the boot.
