Different price point but will undoubtedly share a lot of the Cayenne tech

Did overlay images, I think is more than sharing a lot of the tech. Roof line, windows and doors looks identical with minor changes to wheel arches, window frame and lower doors. Some changes to the back and significant changes to the front, probably 20 cm longer. Removing the side skirts with painted wheel arches will make the Bentley look more bulky and taller.

Not sure if this is all good news for us, assuming new Bentley is basically a Cayenne SUV and the interior will be more inline with Bentley (similar to Audi and Macan EV), they will need to temper with our software architecture to operate their infotainment system design. Luxury SUV EV is a niche market, I hope they don't drain Porsche engineers to operate theirs.

This would kind of explain ride comfort and noise insulation some of us have experienced - sporty but luxurious. We will know for sure later this year, wouldn’t be surprised if new, upgraded massage seats come from Bentley. Guess we get more wheel options 😂.

Totally agree! Guess some people are in for a treat to order the MY27 cars since they will have a lot of functions we never got the opportunity to order

I clicked too many options already, in my case it's kind of a good thing that those additional options were not available at time of order :CWL: . Don't forget, there might be the typical 3-4% yearly price increase for MY27.

Back to the original topic. Looks like BMW has a problem. Neue Klasse X3 is undoubtedly a masterpiece in terms of range but this was at the price of reduced comfort options to reduce overall weight. X5 can't do this, the car is heavier due to size and expected comfort features in that class. To meet the range of X3, they had no other choice as to increase the battery which of course adds to the overall weight. Further, the X5 is not an electric platform, it's a mixed one. Lots of compromises in my opinion which led to a very heavy car. The difference between Macan and Cayenne is around 300 kg depending on engine specs, difference for BMW is 2890 for x5 vs 2160 for X3. Cayenne base is 2525 kg.

Yep, very heavy. With the weight based taxing in the Netherlands, the taxes will also be really high for the ix5 :(
