I doubt you would need to manually retract the spoiler very often as according to the manual -
  • Cayenne models except Coupé models
In Normal drive mode, the roof spoiler extends to the Performance position from approx. 93 mph (150 km/h). Once the speed falls below approx. 80 mph (130 km/h), the roof spoiler retracts.

On the Macan the spoiler also deployed at any speed if the roof was open.

I'm writing as one of the rare Taycan owners who drives my Taycan across the US and Canada on very long road trips multiple times a year...
For the Cayenne EV to work, you need a good infrastructure. Similar to you, on longer road trips I used to operate between 80-20% battery which gave me around 3-4 hour drive time. On recent longer trips with Cayenne EV, Porsche nav calculated route perfectly with shorter stops (usually around 4- 10 min) at 400 kWh chargers. But as you said, charger may be occupied by non EV, faulty or max capacity limited to 100 kWh due to others charging at the same time.

In summary, Cayenne EV is a perfect long distance car but heavily depends on 400 kWh charging infrastructure to provide similar experience to ICE. Charging at 100 kwh is just infuriating. At 350 kWh charging speed we usually fail to come back in time after toilet break. Lunch at 100 kWh is fine.

Rant:
Motorways in UK and Central Europe as well as larger tourist hubs have (currently) good infrastructure. Politicians in Europe however hinder further expansion of fast charging network by ridiculous standing fees and rather challenging planning permissions. If all goes to plan (only selling EVs) as per poorly educated and non working political class, charging will become the bottle neck and we soon end up where we started 10 years ago.

Not all and York doesn’t look like it is available. Here is the map and address of those that are.

I wish I have knew this prior to sending him there.
I must admit, despite having three Porsche EVs since 2022, it's news to me that not all Porsche Centre chargers are open to the public. It does explain why I kept seeing them ICE'd at places like the Leeds Porsche Centre.

When I got my Macan EV in 24, bollards went up after Porsche show room closed. Glad it’s now 24/7 but they are open to public and not only Porsche customers. Not many super fast chargers around, most are 100-130 kWh.

I've had my Cayenne S SUV now for about 2 weeks. I'm not a very aggressive driver and average about 2.8-3.3 miles per kwh. Very pleased with the range at the moment. I have 21 Hankooks.

Currently on a month-long road trip (Michigan to S. California) getting 3.1 mi/kwh at speeds between 70-75mph. On the country roads, it's more like 3.4-3.8. This seems to fit with what the journalists were saying. What's been very surprising is how good it works in the mountains. The recuperation system is far more efficient than my previous Rivian. Drove from Estes Park to Telluride in Colorado on the back roads at 3.8 mi/kwh

Longer journeys seem to deliver better efficiency that short runs, probably not reaching optimum temperature but I drove 70 miles yesterday in the rain and got 3.0miles/KW with outside temperature of 10-11 degree at similar speeds to yourself all motorway. I suspect this will drop back as temperatures drop but also improve as we head towards summer again.

On a different subject has anyone else noticed one or both of their wingmirrors not opening fully went you get in a drive away, I’m noticing this a few times now. ☹

Short runs in an EV are just as bad in ICE vehicles where consumption is always higher. 70 miles is not a short run - but 4 miles in slow traffic would be and worst in low temps.

For what it's worth, I asked AI for the most up to date real-world range figures for all trim levels of the Cayenne EV and her is what I got back as of today:

Initial real-world range testing and independent evaluation data for the Cayenne Electric across different performance trims include the following key results:1. Cayenne Turbo Electric
  • Car and Driver 75-mph Highway Range Test: 300 miles
    • Context & Setup: Tested on a continuous 75-mph highway loop. Given the Turbo's 1,139 hp dual-motor setup, wide sticky performance tires, and a heavy 5,960 lb curb weight, hitting 300 miles at true sustained 75-mph speeds actually exceeds its official EPA estimate of 298 miles.
    • Observed Fast-Charging Performance: In the same test sequence, DC fast charging from 15% to 90% took 24 minutes (peaking at up to 400 kW on suitable 800V/NACS chargers), averaging ~239 kW across the curve.
2. Cayenne Base / Standard Electric
  • State of Charge (Tom Moloughney) 70-mph Range Test: ~350 miles
    • Context & Setup: In independent 70-mph steady-speed highway range testing, the base single-motor / standard dual-motor configuration with standard wheels achieved ~350 miles on a full charge.
    • Comparison to EPA: Porsche lists the Base / Coupe EPA range between 317 and 339 miles (depending on body style and 20 vs. 21-inch wheel fitment), making this real-world result consistent with Porsche's typical conservative range estimation strategy (similar to what was observed with the Taycan and Macan EV).
3. Cayenne S Electric
  • Estimated / Projected Real-World Range: ~315–330 miles
    • Context: While dedicated standalone 70-mph loop tests specifically for the S Electric (536 hp standard / 657 hp launch) are less prominent compared to the headline Base and Turbo tests, its official EPA rating sits at 299 miles on standard 21-inch wheels.
    • Based on the +10–12% real-world highway efficiency headroom demonstrated by both the Base and Turbo trims under moderate ambient temperatures, the Cayenne S realistically delivers around 320 miles in standard 70-mph highway conditions.
Summary Comparison
TrimPower OutputEPA RatingReal-World Range (70–75 mph Highway)
Cayenne Electric (Base)402 hp (435 hp Launch)317–339 miles~350 miles (70 mph)
Cayenne S Electric536 hp (657 hp Launch)299 miles~315–330 miles (Est. based on efficiency scaling)
Cayenne Turbo Electric1,139 hp / 1,106 lb-ft298 miles300 miles (75 mph continuous)
Key Factors Influencing Real-World Distance:
  • Wheel Options: Stepping up to 22-inch options or sticky summer compound fitments degrades highway range by roughly 15–25 miles compared to standard 20/21-inch aero wheels.
  • Architecture Benefits: Thanks to the PPE 800V architecture and native NACS port, real-world road-trip pacing is significantly boosted by the sub-16-minute 10–80% DC fast-charge capability.
