  1. Cayenne S review

The son’s i5 is black like my Cayenne, with a doubt ceramic is a must when black. Nothing against Porsche Bolton they did a decent job on the Cayenne but I think the ceramic on the i5 has a better finish so that has to be down to the guy doing the prep.
  2. Cayenne S review

It was done at Porsche Bolton where I bought it. The Son has used someone in the Ballymena area though not sure who it is but I can find out if you want. His i5M60 cost £850 which included the interior.
  3. Cayenne Coupe In Madeira Gold Metalic Video

When I went for my first test drive in the Cayenne the local dealer had a regular Cayenne in this colour. It’s a nice colour though I still think it’s one of those colours which will divid opinions and as such will probably hurt residuals longterm.
  4. Charging impaired need servicing

Never had it once on our Taycan, that’s weird you had it loads of times and me never. Funny I was on with the service department arranging to book it in when I decided to go out to the car and see what it exactly said, unlocked and opened the door and the message was gone.
  5. Adaptive Cruise Control Issue

Weird it would be a 12v battery issue on such a new car. I know with my Lotus the guys on the forum recommend fixing a trickle charger attachment and hook it on when not driven, I would get random fault codes until I got one and started doing this, now I haven’t had an issue since.
  6. Charging impaired need servicing

The message has disappeared, left the car for 30 minutes and just went out to it and it’s gone. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  7. Charging impaired need servicing

OK, it’s Porsche being Porsche. Never had this one on the Taycan but will need to ring the dealers and get it sorted. Hopefully the right hand charging port is OK otherwise it will be dropped down to them to get sort ASAP or I will be stranded.
  8. Adaptive Cruise Control Issue

I agree that the amount you add is the same regardless of battery but the reason I prefer to keep my battery topped up is my son left his passport behind and only noticed when they stopped midway for a snack. My i5M60 at the time had only 52% SOC and couldn’t make the round trip to deliver the...
  9. Adaptive Cruise Control Issue

At home most people including myself only have a charger that charges at 7KW. I was only highlighting the fact that cars like the iX5 in particular you really need a home charger and keep it topped up all the time, charging at 7KW won’t harm the battery to 100% all the time it’s only DC fast...
  10. Adaptive Cruise Control Issue

True, there’s only the three of us now at home with the other two boys married so the space for me wasn’t an issue just the timeline Mercedes were offering. One thing I am noticing with the large battery is charging at home or work, I had to jump on something and couldn’t wait for a new build so...
  11. Adaptive Cruise Control Issue

The only one other than this Cayenne I would recommend to anyone looking an SUV that’s electric would be the new GLC, that thing with the air suspension and rear steer impressed the hell out of me. In fact it was my first choice but for the delay on delivery I would be driving it instead of the...
  12. Town between Cayenne S EV and upcoming BMW iX5

Genuinely don’t know what the true range is on the Cayenne S, might be 340, might be less, might be more but I doubt it will get close to what the GLC is in a recent comparison between it the iX3, EX60 and Tesla Model Y. 😱 That was very unexpected by me and as all car where driven side by side...
  13. What sound will I get

I too have a car with a proper engine note when I desire such a thing, though in my case it’s flat 6 but still it’s a nice sound.
  14. What sound will I get

That’s why I asked the question if you really wanted the noise or not. This is the first EV I’ve owned where I actually like the sound but I got my brother to take it today for the first time and he turned it on but turned it off after 5 miles. At least if you have it the option to have it on or...
  15. What sound will I get

Maybe I ask those that didn’t spec the sound, did you do it for the saving or are you not really wanting the sound that EVs make. BTW I can understand why you might not chose it as an i5M60 past owner it’s electronic noise wasn’t the best, but when the car is well north of £84K on a base model...
  16. Standard coupe sunroof

My lord that’s a sunny day, can’t be N.Ireland then.
  17. Town between Cayenne S EV and upcoming BMW iX5

He charged in Penrith somewhere and that was it. I don’t know if the base model is more or less efficient than the S version, I do know one of not both electric motors are different.
  18. Town between Cayenne S EV and upcoming BMW iX5

The son sat at 73mph the entire motorway run and sat near close to it until he hit Scotland where he had to sat at the correct speed, only about 50 miles of his journey wasn’t at motorway type speeds. No doubt if you are closer to 80mph then efficiency drops off dramatically but be sensible and...
  19. Standard coupe sunroof

Genuinely haven’t sat in the back to see and frankly living in Northern Ireland the chance of sun is slim at best. Knowing the wife if she was in the back and the sun came out she would be stripped to her undies and trying to kick the sunroof out. You simple can’t miss that opportunity when it...
  20. Town between Cayenne S EV and upcoming BMW iX5

If my calculations are correct that equates to a total range of 381 miles in your iX3 which is still a sizeable drop from the claimed figure. The son drove 380 miles in my Cayenne S and it averaged 3.2miles/KW, based on its useable battery size that should equal about 345 miles which is closer...
