Test drive of Cayenne EV and Cayenne EV Turbo -- my review

Testdriving Cayenne EV first, at local dealer, cars are from factory..

Slow reacting car, with about 440hp. inside the car was bmack-white leather, black outside.

Missed passenger display, rest is nice.

Then testdriving the Turbo. Fantastic reaction time on pedal.black exterieure and red-black leather, withcolour modus and display passenger, panoramic roof with fading. Not worth the money.
fantastic ride and silent inside.

Made my choise. Doubting about extreriour colour. Greenoak, bleu or orange.

Tested it with dog bench Porsche for, my Vizsla.

Yes, I noticed the same thing. We’re quite far from the announced 627 km (≈ 390 miles).
I hope this estimate is due to early test drives, probably done with fairly sporty driving, which can skew the figures. It remains to be confirmed under real-world conditions.

I’ve driven plenty of loaner cars identical to mine while it was in service, Macan and even Taycan, and noticed the same pattern. With my relatively “laid-back” driving style, usually with three kids in the car, my estimated range after a year at 100% charge was around 520 km. However, when I sat in the same type of car or even other models, they often showed up to 30% less range.

My point is that people tend to drive these test cars like they’ve stolen them as they do with loaners, so the data ends up being quite skewed in the PCM.

That’s reassuring, but I’m still a bit cautious. From the photos, it looks like the tests were done mostly in the city, and the car is almost new (around 450 km).
In theory, urban driving should actually give better range than WLTP, not worse.
So even considering a “sporty driving” bias, the figure still seems quite low to me.

These cars are from the factory, brand new and many people drive with them.
i tested the acceleration, so that has also an impoct.
i expect more too. It was at 44kwh/ 100 km. So not realistic by normal driving.
i must say, the sound in sport is way better then before.

Is the sound in the entry Cayenne the in Sport (or Sport Plus) the same as the sound as in the Trubo or is the Turbo the only one that gets the V8 Cayenne simulated sound?

The Turbo gets the V8 sound. The Cayenne and Cayenne S get a V6 sound.

Thank you. Since I would not be race-tracking my Cayenne, and since the S’s 657 HP launch control overbost was tested by one reviewer at 3.2 seconds to 60, I calculatedthe S versus the Turbo on the configurator. On the two near identical-as-possible versions my configuration for the Turbo would have ended up costing me $16K more.

Anyone asked their insurance company what the premium differences would be?

Same! Turbo, Vanadium, Techno wheels in Turbonite. Cheers... although for anyone thaty hasn't even seen Vanadium in the flesh at all, i can confirm its beautiful! Very metallic and more blue than you'd expect

I hesitated for a long time with the Sport Techno wheels in Turbonite, but in the end I was worried it might look a bit too tone-on-tone, with a slight mismatch between the shades.

That said, I saw a 992.2 911 Turbo in Vanadium Grey with Turbonite wheels, and it looked absolutely stunning.

When we test drove my wifes EX30, the same thing happened - I was appalled by the relative inefficiency compared to my much bigger iX50. Sales person (in whom I had zero confidence) said the same things. "Oh it just needs calibrating, people have been driving it hard, etc etc". I was all for pulling out there and then, but the wife wanted a new car... anyway in the real world its absolute pants and now they are restricting us to 70% charge max becuase of fire risk.
Point being, I really want to see some real world data from real people before pulling the trigger on a £130-150k car
