New Mercedes Vision EQXX...Look at all familiar?

Mercedes revealed a new concept car today. Does it look like anything we might be familiar with, especially from the front view? Also, note the vent openings behind the front wheels. Seen those before? I'm sure they're just "styling elements" though and don't contribute to the 0.17 Cd.....

Yeah, I don't care for the rear either, even if it is likely very aerodynamic.

Taken as a whole, I pretty much agree. But if you look at it from the A pillar forward, it takes a number of cues from the Taycan.

It looks like the love child of an EV6 and DB6, but not as pretty as either.

Certainly not my taste, but I still love it! We need fresh ideas, otherwise we all drive the same lolly cars.

Interesting is the tech inside the car. Large battery with only 1.7t weight. Super efficient long range...

I like the direction. I still think Mercedes is king of the Grand Touring car. My AMG e coupe was the absolute king and the Taycan is a close second.

They also use a lot of artificial intelligence to design the parts to reduce material usage in order to save costs and weight. This is cool tech...

I was thinking exactly the same, though the elegance of the mclaren is not in the merc stable.

My main take away from it is that MB are using a lot of input from the Mercedes F1 team.

My personal view is that after a slow start, the (formidable) German car industry is now on a charge....... and Tesla may have a lot to think about in the not to distant future.

So you put in a bigger battery, save some weight, make it a lot smaller, give it less than a 1/3 of the power of a Taycan, steal the front end design and claim it will do 1000 kilometres on a single charge. Wow!

Front is looking really good. It's like the back half is designed by a completely different person. Those rear passenger windows make me feel claustrophobic before even getting into the car.
