My personal view is that VAG (and others) will be seen as charging you extra for something that is already there.
I imagine the Chinese will throw everything in for free - at a much lower cost.
They should be thinking very long and hard about price and value in the UK market (where Chinese...
Just jumping back with the original thread theme......I really don't think this is s good idea from VW (and other manufacturers).
Paying a monthly subscription to unlock some extra power...
I had one as a loaner too.
I couldn't believe how utterly cr@p it was. I couldn't stop laughing when you put your foot down. Nothing happened. ?
The 'performance' reminded me of a Ford Fiesta XR2 I drove in the 1980s.
I think its just starting to change with more private buyers now seeming to be entering the market at the lower end.
I see quite a few pensioners proudly driving round in one of those new MG EVs (who would probably go nowhere near a Chinese brand ?).
The sort who may have driven a Honda Jazz...
I think this may have a lot to do with the current decision making....
The Porsche-Piëch family, is led by Wolfgang Porsche, who chairs the supervisory boards of Porsche AG and Porsche SE (the family’s holding company)
He has grown increasingly concerned about the simmering crises at both VW...
My thinking is a lot depends on how much they intend to move back to ICE and how much to PHEV?
EV/PHEV sales were recently reported to be growing worldwide, particularly in China...
I wonder if the Chinese will be having the same high employment costs that VW had, if they take over a VW German plant with German workers?
Or had VW unions screwed the company into the ground over the decades and a new overseas employer will not have the same burden?
Just interested, as it...
But remember.....women are really, really good at multi tasking......and men are useless.
That's what we are repeatedly told........and lots of jokes and humour made of it.
Unfortunately, all the women I've had relationships with seem to have missed the memo, as I do all the important stuff...
Very true.
I think it's a concern when people get their first EV, and then they get used to it.
And a lot of people are at that 'first EV?' junction in life.
I had my Taycan over 3 years and did 23k miles in it.
In that time I never once needed to charge it away from home.
I did charge in the...
China situation not helped with the recent Taycan recall.
18th Nov
Porsche is recalling 15,906 imported Taycan series electric vehicles (EVs) in China as an expansion of a recall announced in May due to the risk of power battery fires.
The automaker is recalling a total of 15,906...
I wonder how the current negotiations between Govt and manufacturers regarding the 22% zero emissions target is going to pan out?
It seems very late in the day to be discussing it in late November.
So will the rules be tweaked?
Or will the Govt actually fine the manufacturers £15k per...
Agree.
People make a video designed to shock, solely in order to get as many views as possible.
This works and the depreciation of Taycans continues to worsen.
So effectively, it's money moving directly from us (owners) to them (YT tw@ts).
I just view them like a pickpocket on a street...
That's all very useful... and in a watch that is very legible for just telling the time.
I personally don't need something that times laps or is waterproof to 1000ft.
Time / date / timer / legible / lume / 50m+ waterproof.
Thats all I need nowadays.
But no longer my Rolex's which I can't...
I really like that.
Great colour and interesting shape. Love chronos where the sub dials are discreet, so they don't distract from hours/minutes.
Which model is it?
Update.
Found the model.
Question on the hour timer.
Can you set it in conjunction with the 30s timer to show elapsed time - to...
...........and looking at that story on the Xiaomi claiming the lap record from the Taycan today (albeit unfairly), the development speed is startling.
Meanwhile Porsche (and other German manufacturers) are like rabbits dazzled in the headlights and keep changing direction as they don't know...
Interesting developments on the EU/China car tariffs today.
https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/eu-slaps-tariffs-chinese-evs-risking-beijing-payback-2024-10-29/
German car makers are finding themselves in a very bad situation, in a very short space of time.
This is the most...
I think mine must be faulty then.....
I will have to take it into the dealers to see if the 'beaver surround view' has stopped working, or if it was never fitted.
Agree 100%.
I wouldn't wear fake anything, even if I got it for free.
Imo fake gear is to make other people think you have got the genuine article, when you haven't.
Why bother so much about what other people think?
Louis Vuitton is the worse imo....its so degraded that even the real stuff...
The Chinese are coming.
Slowly, but surely - just like the tide coming in.
Today's press.....
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c74jgk1kw87o
I see them challenging the bread and butter brands, like VW.
But they are far more efficient.
These new cars have to take somebody's market share.
It...
