I was thinking that with brake-by-wire, steer-by-wire and drive-by-wire moving the pedals and steering wheel should be much easier.

I think I’m just going to keep my Taycan GTS until the Model S is available in RHD then leave Porsche. Reason? Over the last 10 years of multiple Porsche ownership the technology is sliding backwards, costs rocketing and we still don’t get OTA updates - apart from maps!

I’m not sure it’s possible. 0 to to 60 mph in 1.5 seconds! Doing the maths: A Taycan with a 3.5 second 0 to 60 will need to accelerate at about 0.81g over the 3.5 seconds. If this was 1.5 seconds you would need about 1.8g! They would need some very sticky tyres to provide 1.8g level of grip! Or...

I’m sure if the Taycan had skinny tyres and only 200 bhp it would go a lot further on a charge, without changing anything else.

So you put in a bigger battery, save some weight, make it a lot smaller, give it less than a 1/3 of the power of a Taycan, steal the front end design and claim it will do 1000 kilometres on a single charge. Wow!

Maybe they wanted to do testing on poor roads?

My 4S is quick enough for me. In fact I still haven’t bothered with launch control yet. Sport plus from rolling is enough to frighten passengers and hit legal Speed limits all to quick. . . .

I’m sure Porsche will have a triple motor setup in the future. Reason? They can then do torque vectoring across the rear axle. . . .

Maybe that’s why Porsche have 500 Audi workers with them. Could be training on the Taycan line in readiness for the Audi GT production.
