I’ve managed £3 grand ..off a new car ..just wonder if anybody else has managed anything ….was told by sales agent the manager wanted the saleI’ve been told that due to the production line being shared with ICE’s, thus cars virtually being produced to order, that no discounts are generally available.
Seems they learnt from the Macan EV, that building to keep the production line efficient rather than satisfying the true needs of the market and sales, led to overproduction and dealers being left with unsold cars. Would be interested to see if anyone in the UK has received a discount of list, rather than the odd dealer fit
How does the price compare to other countries are they cheaper or more expensive?I'd image it might be different for LHD vehicles but I got a flat 5% without asking (rolled out of the printer with a 5% discount) and after negotiations I ended up with just under 10% of the configurator price. This is in Belgium with and bought outright. (No finance, no lease)
Regardless of brand I've never ever bought a brand new car for full msrp. The only "regular" production car I know of that you really won't get a discount on are G-wagons.
EU is much more expensive than the UK and US. Our base prices are about 15-20% more expensive. How does the price compare to other countries are they cheaper or more expensive?
That’s a big difference…..that could be a plus for BrexitEU is much more expensive than the UK and US. Our base prices are about 15-20% more expensive.
Tell me about itThat’s a big difference
That isn't true.EU is much more expensive than the UK and US. Our base prices are about 15-20% more expensive.
But it's not actually true. Add the fact that discounts of 8-10% are readily available on the continent, whereas in the UK they're harder to come by, makes the prices close. That’s a big difference…..that could be a plus for Brexit![]()
This is without a doubt true. The base Cayenne is around 20% more expensive in Sweden than in the UK, and the UK and US configurators even include some features as standard that are paid options in Europe. Check the configurator yourself. That isn't true.

You've chosen the one EU country with the lowest VAT and one of the smallest markets. That's hardly representative of the EU as a whole. If you're trying to demonstrate average EU pricing, Luxembourg is probably the weakest example you could pick. Nevertheless, If you do an average of all the price increases for the major markets you will at least find yourself between a 10-15% difference and that is conservative numbers. The EU is more than just Sweden.
You said "the EU is much more expensive than the UK", and you quoted figures of 15-20% higher. This isn't true.
Checking various EU countries, such as Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, will show you this.
Luxembourg, for example:
Base price Lux: €104,190 (based on the current mid-market rate, this is £88,769).
Base price UK: £83,200.
Price difference: 6.7%
That's not "15-20%".
As for some options being standard in the UK...there are a few, but nothing of any major value.
