It would help if the sales staff were proactive and calling to keep you updated instead of cutting important elements from screen shots and not just forwarding corporate emails.

I have been so lucky with my dealer in Colchester - sales are absolutely on the ball and service were excellent sorting out the minor issues with my Macan. I was initially wary as they were Stratstone, but had recently been taken over by the Lithia US group, fearing cost savings but it has effected nothing. The only slight downside is the request for completing a survey after every visit - anything less than ‘exceeded expectations’ is a fail !

Yes the centre Principal is still a card I can play. I think i'll be exploring that option today.
I sometimes wish i wasn't so particular with spec and having new. I could just walk into a showroom, buy from stock and remove the risk of all this nonsense :)
I 100% agree that you should pursue this. I have a tendency to take it a bit further when I feel that the dealership is just plain unjust. I called Porsche AG a few times regarding some different dealership issues, and I'll tell you that it went faster than lightning for them to adjust their attitude after that. Apparently, Porsche AG is pretty serious about customer service and satisfaction, while the General Agents in our countries are not. I've had the head of sales (who usually never answers his phone) call me and SMS me simultaneously so he could get a hold of me within 3-4 days after I spoke to them.

The number is found in the Porsche app, and if you tell them that you feel like they're toying you around and that instead of keeping you as a customer, they instead want you to cancel your purchase. Even tell them that you offered yourself to buy another car as well and they didn't even manage to accommodate you with that.

Also, you're not alone in regard to buying a new car. Especially when it comes to Porsche SUVs. For the past few years, when seeing Cayenne e-hybrids or Macan EVs, they are literally 99% the same configuration, same wheels, same colour, and it's like duplicates all over the country (showroom cars, obviously). Now, that would have been great if you would get a better price, but usually, it is even at the list price, so you're better off ordering one yourself along with the usual discount most regular customers get.

The whole experience has definitely been less than the 10 out of 10 they'll need on their customer satisfaction survey. But who knows, they could still turn it around

Hopefully i'll have something to work with once i hear back from the emails i sent yesterday. I'll also explore contact with the dealer principal today

I'm sure in 4 months this will all be a thing of the past and i'll be overjoyed with the car itself. Just a shame it will be the depths of winter and not the height of summer as originally expected.

I'm very envious that your car has progressed as far as it has.

My visit to the dealership did not go well from a "Customer Satisfaction" point of view. Was met with a lot of "No's", "we can't do that", "our hands are tied", "It's a global issue", "all our other customers are in the same position and we can't assist everyone"... They did tell me i was able to cancel my order if i felt it was necessary. Which always makes a customer feel valued :CWL:

I even offered to buy another temporary car in the meantime... but i would of course need some sort of commitment on the depreciation or a really good upfront price to compensate. But they we're very eager for me to "just continue being patient".

I've got some thinking to do. And any advice from anyone would be well received
I see there are 20+ demonstrators for sale and several new high spec Turbos - is that an option?

Same story with the Taycan historically- semiconductor shortage, air suspension shortage, wiring harness shortage, TPMS shortage and the odd stop sale for HV heaters. I would not be surprised if similar things are being experienced with the Cayenne EV unfortunately.

You don't have a sunroof so you are not missing out :CWL: . Sorry about that. Totally agree, all will be forgotten soon but it's really annoying. I tracked my previous Macan and got all excited about completed steps and estimated delivery. In the end I was handed a lemon. Delay is not the end of the world (all delivered Cayenne EV seem without major issues), 2nd lemon after 6+ months wait however feels like this. :CWL:

Unfortunately none of those available in stock are of any interest.

I'm well versed in the being patient waiting game from my Taycan GTS... around 18 months was pretty painful

Coincidentally i've just had a very promising phone call. The dealership may be about to redeem themselves

Update: Received a call back from the Dealer Principal following my emails yesterday and he couldn't have been more accommodating. Completely different attitude altogether regarding my situation. Very pleased with what he had to say. Looks very likely a temporary deal can be done

But where is the fun in that? The hours spent on the configurator, checking in on the forums to see what others think and do, having second, third and fourth choices on colours, min specs, must haves, nice to haves, initial budget, blowing that in one session, blowing it even further on the next and then resigning youself at being 20k over your initial budget.

Then the glorious ordering day, watching the sales guys eyes get wider as he opens up your spec, suggests a few changes, maybe offers a contribution so you can add one more toy and then paying the deposit.

Now the agony of the "WAIT".

BUT! the relief and pleasure of the new car day with the car that no-one else has, no-one else has driven, your car, your colour being revealed by the sheet being pulled off it.

We love it, so much better than the quickie of the stock purchase, the spectacular love affair over several months.

It's like you're reading my mind. I wont be buying stock. Currently working on a solution with the dealer principal :)

Yesterday was a bad day! After asking (always have to ask) for a post bank holiday progress update, i finally received an email, at the end of the day...

“ Due to current challenges in the supply chain and constraints in parts availability of certain components, the supply situation has become increasingly constrained. As a result, lead times for selected vehicle configurations may be extended and confirmed delivery dates may need to be postponed"

Bearing in mind my Cayenne supposedly went into production 17.08 and seemingly still reached "exit compound" stage on the 24.08...

Many of us experience delays and we do our best to be understanding and patient. However, in spite of production delays being out of the hands of the dealership, there comes a point where it is absolutely their responsibility to manage customer satisfaction and the experience. I feel It's now time for my dealership to step up and start managing.
Originally I was sold a scenario of a June Build slot and receiving the dealerships first Turbo Coupe. June soon slipped to early August and then late August and now late October for a November delivery.
To get the deal done on the Cayenne, I agreed to let them have my Taycan almost immediately. I have been without it since 9.04, expecting to be Taycanless 10-12 weeks. Sure, i've managed but that's not really the point when 10-12 weeks turns into 29 weeks and 5 days :)

Clearly, lots to discuss with them. I'll be paying them a visit this morning.

This is terrible!

Out of interest where do the screenshots come from. My build "estimates" on the App are exactly the same as yours.

Screenshots are provided by my sales assistant. Its from their internal Sales Management system.
Some are very forthcoming with providing them, i've always had to ask for them

Matt - great news that at last you're talking to someone helpful and not evasive. I somehow think that the particular sales assistant may be spending more time with his family. I'll have a bet that it will a different person doing the handover.
