It’s ok, a little goofy looking for my tastes. We do know a few things:

- it will have a $30k interior, not an $80k+ one
- won’t be as sporty to drive as the Taycan
- very little customization (color and that’s about it)
- smaller battery
- ugly wheels (imo)
- they will be everywhere (like a model 3)

I don’t think this is much of a competitor with the Taycan. That’s like comparing an Accord to an S class. However it probably will be a great car overall.

It does look a bit too funky for my unrefined taste, but much better than the Ioniq 5. Not too many electric sedans/saloons on the market so glad to see something other than an endless cavalcade of SUVs and crossovers.

it is a great effort on their part, bravo!

is it competition for a taycan? I don't think so.

the hyundai is a car made for the masses, Pcars have always been for enthusiasts.
Pcars prices are beyond what the masses can afford.

Points out the issue regarding Teslas. A good car, lot's of them around but they mostly look alike with limited options to customize. Leaves people starving for variety.

I love the styling of the Ionic 5, but I think this misses the mark.
No doubt it'll perform great for it's segment, but to me, the exterior design looks dated even before it has arrived. The back quarter just looks downright awkward.
Agree with you.....

I really like the Ioniq 5 (next door has one) but not too keen at all on this. The rear angle looks like a 911 that melted in the sun.

Fair play to Hyundai though for daring to be different, in their price bracket.

Original concept drawings were clearly (maybe too obviously) leaning on Porsche elements (as stated in pic) but a more recent 'rendering' added a big dose of ugly imo :)! Supposedly will have the 800V architecture - other details on web.

Concept was stunning. I would actually have considered it were it not for production, which is too sedate and seems to regress to 'boring' Hyundai.

It needs more of the Ioniq 5 styling. Pass.

The concept was stunning because it was such a Porsche rip off, basically taking the lines of prior 911s and stretching and smoothing them out. If that hit production Porsche should have filed suit immediately.

Ioniq 6 is commendably cutting edge, but proportions are off, and that in turn makes the tail end super awkward. Maybe in a darker color might be OK, so looking forward to seeing that.

If you’re interested in design analysis, TheSketchMonkey does a quick fix that makes me sad for what could have been.

Reminds me of the original Merc CLS. Folks who insist that all EVs will be much of a muchness will feel validated by some of the "Taycan versus..." suggestions around here.
