Had this for a few months now and love it. Garmin EPIX 2 + leather strap.
Perhaps a bit overkill if you don't do much outdoors stuff, but I really enjoy speedhiking and trail running, especially when living and working abroad. The OLED screen with maps and gpx coordinates makes it less likely...
It will probably be coined with some cringe techy term like "FaaS" - Features as a Service - and be seen as the next big thing in EV automotive.
Ultimately every car is going to become the same. Same motor, same fuel (electric), same performance, similar c(d) value and so on.
Distinct from ICE...
I'm currently in a foreign land driving a Toyota Yaris. I've done a fair amount of exploring the island I'm on in my glorified go kart.
I only ever stream my music. The sound system is perfectly decent, if a little lacking with some vocals. The rear boot door reverberating while cranking the...
These are paid agent provocatuers and they are not even protesting about anything. Someone is paying them to PR their "anarchy" and bury bad news, which is the real target of this activity. Or to get government to pass laws that otherwise would have remain untouched - also for ulterior motives...
Read from here and into page 8:

After that, that is why this thread was created... The conversation digressed as usual ?
The general recommendation is to go with the Audiotec Fischer UP 7DSP along with the...
I've driven a lot of EVs since beginning of this year.
My recommendations are:
Taycan: obviously.
BMW I4 40 M Sport: the closest you can get to replicating the drive of a Taycan, though you will need all the "Pro" options. Less than half the price and wait time.
Peugeot e208: yes I know, but...
Tbh brand loyalty is a fluffy metric and easy to misinterpret with supply chain issues. That alone could see a fanboy jump ship if it means getting a new car 12 months sooner.
Instead, sales figures over the next few years will be interesting where legacy and challenger brands compete as...
Brand loyalty is waning then as incumbent and challenger brands make legacy brands appear bad value or unexciting.
Porsche has the second largest drop:

The more EVs I drive, the more they begin to all feel the same. Obviously some drive a lot better than others. Thus far:
Mercedes EQA - Limo like ride, otherwise unexciting. And an SUV. I hate them.
Peugeot e208 - a bit "my first car", but ultimately very fun to drive and unexpectedly nice...
I do love AM, their cars are stunning.
Be a real shame if they go. Ditto McClaren who are also struggling at the moment.
They've just got into selling trainers as another revenue stream...
Next 25 years the "old guard" of luxury marques will possibly die off no different than what happened post WWII, where previous luxury marques couldn't adapt to new tech quick enough, and failed. We are in another era where new tech is rapidly accelerating.
Post WWII, Ferrari, Lambo and...
Clearly you have some skill and experience, but follow any expert in any vehicle on a known route and you will feel like a pro.
Remove them and it all goes to sh*t.
Earlier this year I was doing downhill biking, following a highly skilled pro all the way down. You would think I was pro-level...
Tips for renting cars in Europe:
Do not use the big names, they are more likely to rip you off.
If going to an island, book well in advance. They have limited supply and during peak season, high demand. Either you will be paying premium/luxury car prices for a budget compact car, or you won't...
Sales are down 16% in their biggest market (China) and down 10% in their second biggest market (USA) H1 2022:

That is having an impact on valuation, though in fairness practically everything is in...
It's not controversial, it just isn't possible to prove, much like God - which incidentally most religious people believe controls Earth's climate. Therein lies an interesting dichotomy that I won't get into...
This NOAA study - so we can be confident it isn't misinformation - shows the planet...
Is this the study you are citing?
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/06/090618143950.htm
The scientists concluded CO2 was not "the main trigger" of climate change, but it is intimately linked - possibly because of CO2 stored in glaciers and the sea, where warmer climate sees that CO2...
Ask most (non religious) people in the West this question:
What is the single biggest factor behind climate change?
Almost everyone says co2. Religious people say God.
What almost everyone overlooks is both sides are describing something based on theories. Much of science is theory.
Is co2 a...
Why is any species sacred? That's a human concept.
I'm not religious (or atheist), but if nature selects a species for extinction, so be it.
I think part of the confusion with climate change is it's politicised, corrupted, packaged and sold.
This creates scepticism/suspicion that then makes...
