Still Waiting./Checking For Cayenne EV EPA Ratings

My U.S. dealership told me that his first customer scheduled delivery of a Cayenne EV Turbo is July 24th. Since no OEM can deliver anything in the U.S. not already www.fueleconomy.gov rated, I keep checking that site daily. Just ten days away IF the dealership’s scheduled, and their customer and family already ready to be there that that day turns out to be its actual delivery.

Have bookmarked the EPA site and will keep checking daily — but great if someone here report its range numbers sooner.

Fueleconomy.gov takes a while to update, so the site you actually want to check for EPA certification is https://www.epa.gov/compliance-and-...cation-data-vehicles-engines-and-equipment#IC (note it takes a while to load because it is a PowerBI app).

For instance, the 2027 ICE Cayenne and Panameras are already certified but they are not reflected in fueleconomy.gov.

AFAIK, all customer cars are still being held at port pending approval.

I am also curious about range on the Turbo.

I had Claude build a detailed physics-based model fit to actual measured range that reflected the differences between WLTP range for the different wheels tires powertrains bodies etc. With limited data it’s a bit overfit but the same model on the Taycan nailed EPA ranges within a mile.

I would expect about 290 miles for the turbo; maybe a hair higher for the couple and likely a bit lower (285-ish?) for the SUV.

If they separately test a range config with 21s it will likely do 15-20 miles better.

+- 6-8 miles, I am modeling the Cayenne based on less data than the Taycan… and assuming typical Porsche conservatism, expect real world highway range at 70mph 5-10% higher than EPA consistent with Macan and Taycan.

Enough for my intended usage so I ordered one.

Ok I got it wrong. 298 for turbo, 299 for S, and 317 for base.

mpge (city/highway) were 91/78, 91/81, and 96/84.

looks like some cars in the inventory search have window stickers now. No coupes yet that I could find.

I can not find your posted Cayenne EV numbers at fueleconomy.gov. Might you please share where you found them, and if I missed them at that EPA official range site, please post a screen print? Thank you.

My PNW dealer got their first Cayenne EV in yesterday. It is now in the service area getting ready for its move to the main display floor — though they might still have a few more hours of pre-delivery work before that happens, including maybe some last minute, new model software updates. My wife and I have an appointment to see it tomorrow afternoon or Saturday — dependent on how that PDI timewise finishes up. I will look for its Monroney, and if available will put it up here.

Good find and post. Thank you. 298 miles range for 1,139 HP is amazing. Beyond that really. However, to me just one mile more range for the “S” with is having roughly 475 less HP (it having 656 I thinkI) seems like “weak range” in comparison,; 317 mile range for the base is better of course.

Still for my friends who have been considering the iX3, the iX5 and others, for those who can not afford the Cayenne EV turbo model’s uniqueness, they might well proceed to get those two comparative vehicles at their less than $100K price — even loaded ones.

Myself, I am Porsche and Porsche option bitten but at a “S” I just configured at over $180K (still leaving PAR off of it), IMO Porsche’s Cayenne EV pricing is going to hurt sales. But some are less Porsche option driven than I am, and my local dealership’s first Cayenne EV arrival, a Turbo is in the mid $160K range. So a similar low-option base or low-option “S” becomes hopefully more annd very appealing to others.

I have to believe the Porsche NA team is hating the 298 & 299 mile ratings! Just 1 or 2 more miles and then they get to 300 miles which has been determined is a psychological barrier in NA.

Especially as we know that just like Porsche underrating consistently their announced 0-60/0-100 times, they consistently exceed their EPA mileage ratings, i.e., we saw the three Cayenne EV base models nine months ago all exceed 350 range while averaging just under 70 MPH.

This doesn't matter for the common herd. They will see the EPA number on the window then look at a BMW, MB or Volvo and Porsche will lose sales.
