Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I’m not racing horse power or 0-60mph …i’m impressed on EQS interior…. really impressed.
Otherwise, Porsche is still my favourite, but if they don’t want to make it for me… i’m not willing to wait months and months anymore.

Gee... The sentiment was way different back when this happened.

I guess by your logic Porsche not properly testing thier cars before general release to the public has its drawbacks. But I'm sure there's much more to the story than that.

Another reason they reduced charging speeds from 350kw and that is one car. Porsche will issue a recall as needed, Hyundai & GM did instead of Service bulletins like Tesla because they don't want bad PR.

I know I am a broken record. But I love the comfort features of the EQS, as well as the claimed range! Awesome! I hope Porsche takes the range from this and adds to the Plaid speed and keeps its own drivability :)
However, if I am honest, the EQS looks like a Buick. If I was pushing 80-85yrs of age and heading to the country club to play golf, I might like it. However, I am still producing testosterone and just can't see myself ever buying something like that. Hate if you want, but the only Mercedes I like is the G-Wagon and the F1 car. But I thought that CarWow video was hilarious! The Hydro-Electric power when he poured it into, what looked like a laundry soap bin....I still don't know where that water went or what that lever was for! I am still laughing!
Now, for the Plaid and the article of the fire! aaaah, NO THANKS! My god does that scare me! Forget being upset about pushing back delivery dates.....you burn down and almost can't get out of your car! I don't even want to hate in this post, I sincerely just hope all future owners of Plaid's are actually safe! No life is worth losing, to be a part of a cult. Stay safe out there!

There are theoretical limits you can push these LI ion batteries and we are there.
Something has to give when you're pushing for a higher Mi/kWh.
Teslas "advantage" comes at a steep price as you see with the fires & reliability.
Battery technology was always being developed, not just for cars because batteries are used in many things. Until solid state is fully developed, we are stuck with what we are seeing.

The EQS is on my radar too, but the exterior is not pretty IMO.
It has more batteries with some efficiency techniques, but Taycan is way better looking.

You want the performance, you need give up range, can't have both.

"RY01" and "justlooking" - two examples of people making accounts on other brands forums just to defend their beloved god Elon and his blazing cars.
There are plenty of ex- and still Tesla owners here, so no idea what their drive is.

About the exploding plaid: I was thinking the whole time since the announcement, the batteries never changed. It is the same batteries from the previous model s, and the old one showed with just a few hard accelerations the power went downhill. That is all battery related. New plaid motors or whatever new tech you put in with increased HP will be still putting high stress on the same old batteries. Like @Mr.Smith said those batteries have reached their limits and results will be those spontanious combustions..

I'm skeptical of the "carbon sleeve" rotors as well. They have a 23,000+ RPM redline at 200mph. Tesla is the best at software, good at batteries, but terrible in mechanical design. I will be interested to see how these new Plaid motors hold up over time.

Best at software? Good at batteries? If the batteries are the same as in the previous model then the new one is worse with a even bigger motor.

Does this new release serve any other purpose than winning pissing contest on SM?
Tesla uses Panasonics outdated batteries, not their own. Now they are working with CATL to source LFP batteries like everyone else.
That 23,000 rpm motor can't go 200mph because of tires?
I wonder how the F40 did 200mph in 1988

Only advantage Tesla has is infotainment and mobile app.

i wouldn’t bother if they would say “July 31”when i signed s contract, but i don’t like empty promises (and lies).
