After charging to 98% for the first time, I was irritated and slightly annoyed to see that the range only shows 298 miles. No where near the 400 miles that I was expecting.
can anyone tell me if this will improve with battery use. Or have we all been sold a lie?

1000 miles into ownership and I'm seeing the same range as you at full charge.

Admittedly my driving style could be described as "not hanging around", but even taking that into account, 400 would be significantly beyond ambitious IMO

I've driven the car for three months and drive enthusiastically occasionally, and my range is about 550 km at 100%, which is pretty much as expected. It isn't realistic to expect 400 miles (ca. 640 km), since that is the estimated WLTP range which is known to not coincide with real world range.

Usually, the car needs to be driven for a while, with the battery almost fully drained and then charged before it gives you the most accurate range estimate.

Something else to keep in mind is that the range you see in your app can sometimes differ from what the car actually shows while driving.

You will never see 400 miles or any WLTP quoted range. These are laboratory measures only and not real life.

I had an S on 22" the other weekend and with 15C ambient it registered 325 miles of range at 100%.

Consumption over 270 miles of non motorway driving 3.0+ miles / kWh.

Usual rules apply where range is dependent on: ambient temperature, weather, tyre and rim size, load, driving style, recuperation on / off / auto, heating and so on.

Thanks Moheisen. I know I won’t get the 400 miles when driving, but I expected it to show a higher value than it does after being charged.

So you wanted to be shown an over-inflated and unachievable range figure? Why?

I'd say the Porsche estimate is broadly realistic at least. Unlike other (I'm looking at you, Elon) brands!

I had the exact same feeling of disappointment, but then thought about it some more. My previous car (Tesla Y) lied to me, and I always had to deduct 25% from the stated range. I guess I'd prefer an honest car IRL, although better still would be honest marketing claims around real world range. "Honest" and "marketing" are not 2 words that travel well together however .....

The official EPA-rated range would be more accurate, but it's not out yet.
Real-World/EV Database Estimate: around 320 miles (520 km) of mixed real-world driving.

Nobody is lying to you. The car is tested against WLTP procedures, and the figure quoted is the ACTUAL result from that test.

It's the test which is not reflective of the real world.

WLTP are meant to be a bench mark to compare different cars to. It is not meant to provide actual range - otherwise they would have to provide at say different temperatures, different speeds etc.

The car will take into account your actual driving 'style' and so the more you drive the more it will take it into account.

If you park with say the ac on then the range forecast will reflect that after charging.

I took a screen shot after my last 100% charge - it shows 365 but you'll also see that the last trip was 2.7 which is 290 but that was after a short journey blasting down an empty dual carriageway.

Yeah, the Macan EV is similar - the battery can "split in two" for faster charging at low speed chargers, which means your reported range could be way off. Best way to keep it more honest is to drive it down as close to 10% as you're comfortable with before charging. That's kept in a range I was expecting on the Macan (which is usually about 30 more miles at an 80% charge than the EPA rating, depending on climate).

I think I would be easily over 300 miles with full charge. So far satisfactory for me.
