Aesthetics aside the car is designed by real car people. I know the team benchmarked the GT3RS, suspension of McLaren.
EVs are making ungodly amounts of horse power for much less than an ICE.

Tire technology is very appealing. PS4S center with Cup 2s compound on the outer shoulders

With some crazy lease deal like they are doing on their other cars, its a car I would get

I guess thats where we differ - I can't put 'aesthetics aside' when purchasing a 6 figure car - I have to want to get in it when I walk up to it and the Lucid fails big time for me in this respect. As always these things are entirely personal :).

I like how it looks, but I dont love it like the Taycan. There are some cars that performance wouldn't matter, I just couldn't do it. Sapphire inst one of them

Really great video - learn a lot from it about Lucid!

I am curious how the engineering of traditional dampers, swaybars & hydraulic braking will translate to most of their average buyers who likely expect air suspension and all the trick stuff because of the price point.

Very good watch.

It was a very informative and technical video.

You make a good point on the transitional braking etc.

The nontraditional approach was by design for all of Lucids variants with performance being the key factor.

When I drove the Air Dream I wasn't a big fan of it, but hopefully the Sapphire will be tuned
better

It’s a long video, if you are unable/unwilling to view all of it, I would highly recommend two sections:

- Torque vectoring & calibration - great for us technical geeks
- Silverback Jack - fun for everyone

I thought it was very interesting/entertaining, couldn’t help but think that they poached a couple of ex Tesla guys, wonder if they brought any tech knol with them?

My friend "upgraded" his MX to Lucid last year. He hates it. Software is very buggy (ex., he stands in front of the car for 2 minutes waiting for doors to open, etc.). Small things keep failing, he has been driving a loaner more than Lucid. Their stock was $5 last week. I wouldn't give my quarter mil to this company.

There really isn't any tech knowledge to bring. Telsa batteries are Panasonic, nothing special about the motors.
The Lucids motors are the smallest, lightest, highest horsepower, most efficient of any OEM.

The CEO is the person that spearheaded the Model S

Great video and like their engineering direction. With that said they ruined the design. For a new brand with all high priced vehicles they should stand out on the road. Unfortunately this just looks like a Buick. Not sure the company is going to make it

In the fifteen years I've been married, my wife has mentioned seeing three different kinds of car on the road: an Alfa Romeo Guilia, a Rivian, and the Lucid. So they must be doing something right in their design.

I'm not confident enough to make a prediction about the viability of the company, other than to say that they'll be ok as long as the Saudis are pumping money into them. The most worrying thing about them is that you can walk into a showroom and get one of their cars immediately with a substantial discount. Seems like demand is not what it was. The other side of that coin is that they are at least able to build cars and sell them to customers, though.

I came away from my test drive very impressed; I like the car a lot. The software is not all the way there (but that's a common problem among car manufacturers and Porsche is obviously not an exception), but as a driving experience it's way ahead of something like the EQS (which is awful, in my opinion).

As boring as the some consider the design of the Lucid Air, I really like the car overall and how it drives. Leagues ahead of a Model S in all respects. The Taycan does have the edge in driving and handling, but the Lucid Air is an all around more everyday usable luxury performance EV IMHO ??
