Based on both of your timelines there is a minimum of 4.5 months from Milestone 3 to delivery. For me I'm still at Milestone 1 and dealership says I will have the vehicle in 2.25 months. For sure not being honest here.
To be fair, the launch allocations will usually lock very early because they are still ramping up the production line and need to know the specs early.

When I ordered my 911 and Taycan, my orders locked ~6-8 weeks before production.

You should get your dealer to send you a copy of the PSVMS screenshot (see above) and see what Porsche's estimates are.

Based on the above, if my order locks this week, the order would arrive around 1 October. Does this mean the model year would be a 2027 instead of a 2026? The MY affects depreciation independent of mileage and is probably 10% per year. I'm trying to look on the bright side of an order delay!

Predicting MY is getting more challenging, Macan EV MY 24 had a very short half live and following MYs were out of sync with other Porsche. Best bet, no.

I doubt it would be a 2027 as the model year comes in after the August close down so that would only allow about say 5 weeks to build the car and ship to Houston

I really do understand your frustration, especially if your dealer isn’t giving you any straight answers. Did you try asking for the PSVMS screenshot as stated above? Might give you a little more peace of mind. Otherwise just cancel your order and wait til September and get a MY27😀

Tomorrow I see the dealer to look at Cayenne in person for the first time. I will ask them for the PSVMS.

I don't want to break my commitment. I already backed out of an order from another dealer because the order locked three months before (18 Dec) they told me it would lock and the build was incorrect as we hastily put that together on the first day orders were open (22 Nov).

I ordered mine on 11/22 and yeah I get it. I didn't realize the automatic doors and some other options werent available when I built out my admittedly very optioned up Turbo.

I asked to see the PSVMS or whatever it is called and they showed me a screen that looked different and said Order Lock - 2 June and Delivery 21 August.

interesting, mine locked on May 25th and the dealer had originally told me Sept delivery. This week he said give it two weeks from the lock date and we should have a firmer date. Does that should reasonable?

I'm not experienced with the Porsche system. I've already experienced three episodes of ridiculousness regarding lock dates with first order that I had to walk away from and now with this order.

Honestly, it sounds like your dealer is kind of incompetent at best. My dealership/salesperson has been very proactive in updating me when orders lock, when I can expect vehicles, etc...

yeah my dealer has been great about updates as well. they are having a cayenne reveal event on 6/4/26 as well that they invited all the current order holders to. I am looking forward to seeing a turbo in person.
