Cayenne S won't remember my seat position

I just took delivery of a 2026 Cayenne S Electric and am having a frustrating issue with the seat memory/profile settings. I’m new to Porsche, so I’m trying to figure out whether I’m missing a setting or something isn’t working correctly.

I saved my seat, mirror, and steering wheel positions to memory button 1. My daughter then drove the car and saved hers to button 3. She was using my profile, with my iPhone in my pocket while I sat in the passenger seat.

Ever since, the car automatically returns to her position when I get in, even after I’ve restored mine and been the only person driving.

Here’s what I’ve tested:

• Entered using my iPhone 18 Pro Max as the digital key, entered my passcode, and confirmed my profile was active.
• Held button 1 until the seat, mirrors, and steering wheel finished moving to my settings.
• Switched the car off, got out, locked it, walked away, and returned.
• When I opened the door, the seat moved back to my daughter’s position—before I even entered the profile passcode.
• Repeated the test with the physical key and my phone left behind. Same result.

Button 1 still correctly recalls my position. The problem is getting the car to use that position automatically when I return.

Is there a separate step to save the current seat position to the profile or key? Does recalling a position with a memory button behave differently from adjusting the seat with the physical controls? Is there an automatic-save setting I need to enable?

Also, what’s the best setup for a learner driver who only drives with a parent present? My daughter is 15, and I don’t want to give her a digital key or independent access to the car. Can we manually switch to a separate profile or Guest mode while keeping my phone as the only key, without overwriting my settings?

Has anyone with a Cayenne Electric (or Cayenne ICE) run into this and found a fix?

Unfortunately, for you, I do believe this means the car has chosen her. The car is hers now

(Don't have mine yet but i suspect this is PCM account profile and not necessarily relevant to the use of a key)

That's what I thought. But I can't find anywhere in the PCM, or the app, that links account profile to a seat position.

It does seem likely that somehow my profile got linked to her position. But here's the bizarre part. I adjusted her position (#3) to my seat settings. But the car is STILL remembering her earlier position. I don't understand how that's even possible, unless your explanation (the car has chosen her ) is correct!

Create a Porsche ID for each user and let that person use the other key. The profile is then associated to the key to login to the PCM and automatically recall comfort and ergonomic settings.

If sharing a key and profile then use the memory buttons to recall the ergonomic settings.

Whoever last used the car and key combination and made any comfort and / or ergonomic settings then when they exit the car those settings are saved automatically to the profile used.

Trick here is to separate they keys and profiles (up to 8 keys I think).

Should be reasonably well documented in the Owner’s Manual.

Probably not the answer as you are using your iPhone as the key. When you took delivery and they set everything up did you have both keys in the car ? Have you tried entering the car with the second key on you - having both keys in the car when the profile is set causes issues.

I bought the car from a dealership 700 miles away, so it was delivered on a truck and I didn't receive a "proper" orientation. I did one over FaceTime with someone from the dealership, but by then I think I had already created my profile. I can't recall whether I had both keys in the car.

I really prefer to use my iPhone as the key. And my daughter is 15, with her learner's permit, so when she's driving I'm in the passenger seat with my phone in my pocket. (The wisdom of allowing a 15-year old to drive my brand new Cayenne S is a topic for another day!) I guess this will cause problems for the reason @W1NGE stated above:

Yes separate digital keys and profiles.

Take care when unlocking / locking the car as that determines which key then profile / id is used.

With physical keys same procedure.

Maybe I'm not locking/unlocking it correctly? I just get out and walk away. With my BMW iX, it would lock itself after a few minutes. Then unlock when I approach. Is it not the same with the Porsche?

Yes it's the same with the Cayenne EV Comfort Entry. So it loads the profile linked to the key as you approach.

Only the Macan EV and Cayenne EV support "walk-away" locking that Im aware of (this can change by model year on other models).

Providing the doors, frunk and trunk are closed the car should lock when 3m away and inlock when you approach.

Check the Comfort (Locking) settings in the PCM that it is enabled.

Read further into comfort settings etc to see that you are following the steps.
