Maybe the software is better and the app works? :giggle:
I wouldn't get my hopes up. I have an Audi E-tron and their app is even worse some how. However the vehicle software is on par with Porsche.

Regardless the E-tron GT will be sweet. Even if it's just an "Audi Taycan". I've always been a big fan of Audi. The Bang and Olufsen stereo is one of the best sound systems I've ever seen in a vehicle. Makes the Bose system in the Taycan seem pretty entry level. The B&O came standard on my E-tron with an MSRP $130,000 less than my Taycan.

... and in what way am I saying that?
Chastising Audi for using a corporate platform to release a car that is going to be similar. My Macan GTS was based on the *previous* gen Audi Q5 platform.

The e-tron GT will be Audi's take on the J1 platform. GIven it's going to have the same motors, the output power will be determined by marketing, not technology. I expect MMI will be superior to PCM also (just as it is when comparing MMI to PCM forever)

And Audi will release the e-tron GT in Daytona Gray :D

It has been obvious for quite some time that it's essentially an Audi-skinned Taycan even if Audi builds it themselves. The similarity feels closer than for other platform sharing vehicles.

Yeah, the silhouette of the car, performance and audience is similar. We can probably guess the interior is just a remixed version of the Taycan

What really annoys me is that Audi gives their drivers more "flexible" performance. I'm talking about the boost. At Porsche it is only at launch. Audi gives you a button that can be used anytime. I really hope Porsche makes changes like that with the Taycan. The dream would be full boost always at Sport Plus mode.

The car cannot do it "Always" as it runs the motors over normal limits which would exceed the thermal cooling capacity. However, I can see maybe assigning a joker button to "Boost" when in Sport or Sport+ and it would work if temps were OK for the ~2sec.
I agree that I had hoped they would keep the button in the center of the Sport Chrono control wheel for future use. ;-).

Software update, pretty please Porsche.
But either way, I love the car...

Good point good sir. I am "crying" over a feature and haven't even driven my own Taycan yet :D. Delivery hopefully this month. I am very curious about the update coming end of february. Someone in the forum had some info from his dealer that one is coming.

The e-tron GT RS performs well, but (my opinion) it looks very similar to petrol Audis. Doesn't make it look bad, but visually its not sweeping me off my feet. The Taycan on the other hand is a whole new world design wise. A Taycan Turbo vs. Audi e-tron GT RS comparison should be interesting.

Somewhere someone is recalling a scene from a Fast and Furious movie or Gone in 60 Seconds where you push the "GO GO GO" button and whoosh... I'd vote for that as a steering wheel button over regen control. One can dream.

When I first saw the two, I liked the look of the e-Tron GT concept better than the Taycan but now I wouldn't kick either one out of the garage and I didn't feel like waiting a year. As it turns out my 2012 Model S didn't feel like waiting another year either (seems I unloaded it just in time).

Nope, that's not for me, no matter how many motors they put in it.
Looks quite nice in some other photos, but that doesn't work in white with those wheels.
Plus it manages to look enormous - which the Taycan is too really, but somehow doesn't look like it.

So this looks like an Audi, but the body colored grill insert to me makes it especially ill-suited for a white car. Unlike the Taycan, which looks especially good in white.

Also, really surprised by the approach to the door handles...
