Hope these help them to survive the next two years. They don't have a source of unending funds like Lucid and can't keep losing money at the rate they have been doing.
I suspect that it is a combination of terrain and temperature. Here in the part of New York where I live and mostly drive, it is largely flat with very gradual inclines. In the non-winter months, I get about 275 miles at 85%. Reliably. When I drive longer and head west, I have to drive on more...
As the owner of a Taycan 4S and an eTron S Prestige, I suppose I am in a position to opine. The eTron S is a fantastic SUV, and it has the storage that my wife was looking for in her vehicle. She is an avid golfer and wants to be able to load her clubs and her cart easily, with the occasional...
While I have had many EVs/plugins, I only have had one at a time, since I have never been able to convince my wife/kids to go EV themselves until recently. Soon, we will have two!
I'm not so sure of that, at least in the short- to medium-term. My Porsche dealer has been pretty busy with Taycans for the last few years. :CWL: To be clear, I love my Taycan!
I think they have proven that it can be done, but since they have not made great money ex-carbon credits per vehicle...
I couldn’t get my wife to like it enough to buy it. She really liked the GV60, but she found the turning radius to be too large; she is definitely one of those people who would appreciate a RAS option for the GV60. She is holding out for the Audi E-tron S Sportback. Too bad for me, since the...
Agree on all fronts, but historically performance cars and family haulers were not close in quickness and acceleration, so it was a differentiating characteristic. You never had to say that a Porsche was "just a little" quicker than the Subaru. Right now, Taycan has design and handling nicely...
It's just that there still are not a ton of interesting EVs. So all "interesting" EVs get lumped together by people who want an EV first, not a car first. Nobody would cross shop a Subaru Outback against a Panamera because there are a LOT of ICE vehicles to choose and therefore many more...

It is certainly possible that it was a consideration, but design elements of the type that you have described have been hard to enforce. I suspect stamping/machining costs and interior space impacts were as much of a consideration (if not greater) in the changes as potential litigation.
I would definitely keep it. It is a promising car with some very interesting features that I would love to try for a while (FaceID/TouchID being one of them).
Totally agree. I think a lot of the people who are griping about the potential to be left out of the PCM 6.0 upgrade are most concerned about being left out of a more stable future build. There are, of course, people who care about native Spotify and Android Auto, but the most important thing is...
Totally understand that some of these apps are useful, but each of the apps that I was thinking of (calendar, weather, messages) have substitutes in CarPlay and Android Auto. I was simply suggesting that if the cost of them fixing functionality that we cannot substitute for on our phones.
Personally, I would be happy if they fixed bugs that are related to the car, added Android Auto and deleted all of the other apps (i.e., Calendar, News, Weather etc.). We can get that functionality through our phones.
Interesting. Do long-time Porsche owners have examples of non-driving related things that Porsche has let live in prior cars? That would be helpful in expectation setting.
While I agree that there is certainly no obligation on the part of Porsche to add additional functionality/features to existing Taycan PCMs, I will note that many "lesser" car manufacturers update both UI and functionality on their infotainment systems for much older model cars. My son's Hyundai...
I think that it absolutely is not. However, it is in the ballpark from a price perspective, so it does enter the consideration set for a certain subset of buyers. I know a few people who were considering a 7 series for example, who ultimately purchased a Model S. They absolutely do not consider...
