Whilst appreciating the EV Turbo is totally a performance car, I wonder if they want to differentiate between a sports saloon and an SUV. Of course, they may offer the upgrade in a future model year. If it becomes standard but, only on the Turbo, then that may also help to explain the significant price difference as well as the performance.

Whilst I can totally get why a lot of potential owners would want it on a Porsche, I'm buying a Cayenne more as a SUV rather than a performance drive - boring I know.

I noticed they specifically mentioned OTA upgrades but only for infotainment. I wish they had stressed that on the Macan as it would have avoided a lot of disappointed owners on the Macan site.

I own a Boxster GTS with stick and a Hyundai Ioniq 5N with eShift that is universally praised in reviews. I've owned 5 EV's and some normal auto transmissions and a CVT.

I detest the eShift and fake sounds. I also dislike automatic transmissions. I like the Boxster but mostly for the handling and folding top. I'll sell the Boxster once the EV version is available.

I wpould love if the shift paddles could be used to cycle through regen modes and include OPD

Just noticed that Porsche released this:
https://newsroom.porsche.com/en_US/...aycan-updates-e-shift-with-virtual-gears.html

What are your opinions on it and shouldn't it also be available on their newest product?
Hard to imagine that in time it won't be offered. No indication on price to be paid for the privilege either.

Now described on the configurator for the Taycan but all pricing is missing (suspect price rise imminent) and has a pre-requisite of either Bose or Burmester and Sports Chrono. Not cheap therefore.

I'm not a fan of the ESP in general but the E-Shift is interesting and a pity that the original ESP wasn't more like it.

Would love it on Cayenne S if you could activate push to pass and regen mode via paddles. I had paddles on previous cars but why would I want to use them? Kick-down is all I ever used. And that's what I want on my base Cayenne, just give me that extra power when really needed like overtaking those caravans on bendy B roads and not just for those childish red light launch control starts (not that I haven't done them).
