I asked the same thing. Seems like a waste of effort, but they have to certify all vehicles for emissions levels even if those levels are zero.

PS. Thought you were getting political for a second re ’ICE’…😉

I was among the first to pre-order the CY Turbo in September and placed it in January as soon as it was available.
Estimated release date: May 28th. Yesterday, the official announcement was made that nothing will arrive in Italy before September. Global production has been postponed by 3 months.

Since the announcement was "official" do you have a link to a press release or something? This could push me to another vehicle.

no but it is one of the largest Porsche dealer groups in Italy. My doubt is that given the moment of Porsche and given that the EV production line in Bratislava/Slovachia is the same for EV and ICE, they are pushing ahead with the closure of the old models and ICE material to then launch the new ICE 2026/2027 as soon as possible and accelerate the turnover of the old ICE and the new ICE 27

Lot's of uncertainty. If @benjaminbutton is correct then it is still plausible because my order timing was for August 14th delivery which I think would've been the second shipload to USA and your order is the first shipload. The cutoff point has to land somewhere. Once I waited in line at the DMV for two hours and when I got to the window the person behind the glass went on her lunch break!

I really don’t like hearsay, especially regarding things that might make people reconsider or even cancel their purchase. I just spoke with my dealer and my production date is confirmed by the factory is the 18th of May, with expected arrival at the dealer on 26th of June with immediate delivery.

What he also confirmed is that the global launch date is the 24th of June. From what I’ve been told, this supposed “global production” postponement is not related to Sweden, and likely not to other markets either. It seems like misinformation rather than anything officially confirmed.

I agree on not wanting hearsay or spurring purchase cancelations. How do we explain that my order "locked" earlier than the original promise from Porsche then unlocked immediately after the 25% tariff was put in place and since has been unlocked beyond the original planned lock date? So something is up.

The only person who should really be able to answer that is your dealer. And in the end, it honestly shouldn’t matter too much, because if anything unexpected happens you’ll get your deposit back anyway. That said, I completely understand that spending time thinking about these things is frustrating, which unfortunately is part of choosing a brand-new model.

Still, I really think your dealer needs to provide better answers. Otherwise, Porsche NA should be able to answer these questions since they have direct contact with higher-level executives.

Kind of happened to my GTS order as well. Changes still possible past (supposed) freeze point. This was a dealer slot for show-car so these slots may have some flexibility. In terms of coinciding with tariff announcement, didn't base price stay unchanged with only options increasing previously?
