If the Cybertruck has to prep for its drag run like the Model S Plaid, then its actual quarter mile run is 11 seconds... plus 10 minutes.

And only once before a long rest.

Try to unwad them, it was only humor.

But, from Motortrend: Next, you'll need to select "Drag Strip Mode," which is Teslaspeak for launch control. The system then preconditions the battery pack, bringing it to its ideal operating temperature. This can take anywhere from eight to 15 minutes based on our observations, so you'll want to give yourself plenty of time to prepare prior to any straight-line showdowns. A message stating "Peak Performance is Ready" pops up to let you know the preconditioning process is complete. You're almost there.
With the powertrain preconditioned, you can move to the final step. First, you'll need to firmly stomp the brake pedal with your left foot, and then do the same to the accelerator pedal with your right foot. This operation initiates "Cheetah Stance," which lowers the front end approximately 2 inches. This takes about eight to 10 seconds.

And yes, Car and Driver also reported that 2022 updates allow the Plaid to now do back-to-back drag runs. Feel better?

… it was only humor….
For it to be “humor”, it would need to be funny…

Why are you quoting Model S stuff in relation to the Cybertruck?

Cammisa’s review mentioned that it ran 11.3 @ 30% SOC, making the near-7,000 lb. truck quicker than every Taycan other than the Turbo S at that SOC. Now THAT’S funny!

Damn, that’s gonna depreciate Taycans even further..
While it won’t depreciate Taycans more it is a bit underwhelming that our almost 200k car can be beat by a 100k 7,000 lb pick up. It’s not the only metric that matters but it is one Porsche touts and is the major differentiator between the different trims. While I think the cyber truck is hideous it’s good to see a company trying to break the current mold.

I thought the video was funny. I am not bothered by it at all. There is no comparison between the Tesla brand and Porsche.
Absolutely agree! Ask any Uber driver, oh! I mean Tesla owner to take a corner at speed and we’ll see how the story goes…

Where exactly do they tout the 1/8th mile times?

While I think the cyber truck is hideous it’s good to see a company trying to break the current mold.
what mold are they trying to break? Do you think trucks that are towing significant weight need to have faster 1/8th mile racing times?

Tesla Cybertruck’s Race Against A Porsche 911 Was Apparently An 1/8-Mile Run (insideevs.com)

Turns out, Cybertruck raced with 911 while towing a 911 for just 1/8 - mile, not a quarter mile as Tesla claimed. I like Tesla and like Musk (minus his antics) for their contribution to the EV world but they need to stop this childish stuff. Porsche does not have to respond to this as we all know Musk can be and is eccentric.
I wouldn't buy a truck based on performance and wouldn't purchase a sports car based on towing capacity.

Speaking of wadding, this is obviously just a marketing piece.

Judging by the multiple mentions of this same clip on this forum, it appears to have had the desired effect....
