Matt - it looks like Admiral still don’t cover the Turbo. The dropdown has just 2 selections. They are the ‘ps’ not named S or base but clearly not the Turbo.
I did receive a quote from Porsche Insurance about a month ago (£1900) Which i don't think is too bad. I'm still 6/7 weeks away from delivery. I have time for insurers to get their act together

I went for Porsche insurance, slightly more expensive but you get a lot of freebie’s like gap insurance up to 150% to replace car within first year. Thought it’s worth it for first year.

Admiral provides the standard provision of a new car in the first year if written off or stolen, I probably mistakenly took the 150% to really only apply to say rare 911’s which may be worth more than list. The agent told me that you receive the amount in the policy if written off. Their cover is better than Admiral but it was so easy just to stay and switch cover, that said, the £ 700 drop was a considerable consideration. I’m still thinking that is an error but I have the policy and payment all confirmed.

Looking forward to driving it tomorrow, slightly apprehensive about the size, it’ll be the largest car I have owned.

Have fun tomorrow. Car is big but not more difficult to drive around in the city as compared to Macan. RAS helps a lot and width feels quite similar. Seating position feels higher but looking forward to your comments.

Thanks - We're going for lunch with a bit of a drive so I'll let you know my initial thoughts - I'm sure they will be positive.

That would be a good lunch on a good sunny day in your lovely coupé. But I bet you have done "cheers" on a suitable drink beforehand ;)
Which part of the UK are you from?

Colchester so short drive to coast. Had two snags today.

A very sheepish salesman called to say whilst prepping the car they noticed 2 very small (described as being the size of a grain of rice) chips below the number plate - sent photos and they really are tiny. Offered to use their well respected paint guys and then collect Thu. Not wanting to have to change insurance it is booked in next Monday for a day and a bit for curing.

Then at 5:30 called again to say they couldn’t register the car with my new personal plate as DVLC now require the ref from the ownership cert which still hasn’t turned up after paying 10 days ago. In the past the confirmation of purchase email had the cert ref in it, but they have stopped that now. Dealer got a standard reg from DVLA and so I called Admiral at 6:30 - changed the reg in the policy no prob at the princely sum of £ 5.

I’ll be really glad to drive it away tomorrow !

A little niggle. Not to worry. It happens.
It's good of the salesman to notify you of grain-of-rice chips. You may not have noticed otherwise.

Sure it will. Some time ago I bought a new Lexus 450h and turned up on the day to find it had been damaged taking it off the transporter. The young salesman didn’t have the courage to phone before and thought it better for me to collect as arranged. I jokingly related this tale to my wife only last night saying it can’t happen twice. ……..

He said I wouldn’t have noticed as the severe lighting in the prep / detailing shop shows up all imperfections.

I collected today - he was right the 2 chips are really small and unnoticeable- it’s booked in their paint specialist next Monday.

Only fault is that I think the passenger side window isn't sealed correctly. At 70 mph the wind noise means I almost have to shout to be heard and the drivers side is silent. They’ll take a look next Monday whilst in for the ‘chips’. Really noisy compared to the 4S so definitely something amiss - I have the acoustic glass.

Everything else in my view is far better than the Macan. The rear wheel steering makes it a smaller turning circle than the Macan and the width is hardly noticeable. Trying hard to think what to assign the second favourite button to - everything I want shortcuts for are already available.

Could Be the roads I drove on today but the Driver Assist seems more accurate in keeping to the centre of the road. I’ve only had a quick try of ‘moods’ and I think it is more than a gimmick.

Fixed roof probably gains a bit of headroom and it does allow more light in than the pano roof on the Macan. I will miss the massage seats (back problem) but not as much as I thought as the 14 way seats are definitely more comfortable than those in the 4S (I am 6’ 2” and on the heavy side).

All in all, I think it is a far more luxurious car than the 4S and surprisingly I found the grunt to be more than enough.

I just looked at the Widgets Spot On video and it has the massage seats shown ! They really did intend to include them at launch !
