Insurance in uk for the Cayenne Turbo

I’ve just tried Lv and although the car is listed they won’t insure. Also Aviva don insure as the car has not been rated yet.

sounds uninsurable 🫪…how come other people haven’t had a problem just wondering

I got a reg from the car I drove on track at Porsche and a load of insurance company come up on the compare sites so Hopfully im sorted. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Hadn’t given this thread too much thought as I assumed my fleet insurance wouldn’t have an issue with my Base Model. Turns out they want a tracker even on that and it’s locked up at night behind gates and in a garage with cameras and comms from the gate direct to my phone.

quite a shocker actually I can’t believe it’s that much of a theft risk given it’s unlikely they could get it out of the country from my house on a single charge. (Unless on a truck)

Had to bite the bullet and fit the tracker , I was more worried about this delaying delivery than the car being stolen Thankfully Porsche have said they can fit it the day before they deliver !

Someone on here in the early days was told the insurers would not cover a Turbo without a gated community or posts in the drive. I have a base Coupe and Admiral charged less for it (including work) than Macan 4S EV.

Most ’prestige’ cars these days are stolen to break for parts rather than selling on, although some do go in containers overseas.

Take a look at an earlier thread regarding what happens if you don’t have the tracker fob with you !

I might have understood a little more had my car been a Turbo, and I have prewarned my business partner who has a Turbo on order. However mine is just a Base SUV, that will be gated and garaged in deepest darkest Devon (ok that’s a slight exaggeration) but still it’s on the very edge of a City behind closed doors and cameras where even a mouse makes the curtains twitch and the dogs and wolves howl !
No bugger is getting past my gate without a gun let’s be honest and at that point they take what they want

I’ve had some other quotes back and actually yes they are a little pricey but not that bad not sure why my business insurance broker is being an arse but I guess the whole fleet will be reviewed in March as a result of them being donkeys !

I’m having the meta trak deadlock fitted had it on my Range Rover sport. Porsche are happy for me to have it fitted good system.

I wasn’t offered an alternative. For dealer fit I was told it was Vodafone only. Since they upgraded the system to also disable the car if no fob, then I think it is a good system.

Previously, if the car was started without the fob then the system sent a text and if no response then a call. If during the night my phone was turned off then I’m not sure what would happen next, whereas now the thief gets a message saying there is a system failure and the car is un-drivable - nobody told us that so when I forgot the fob I thought the Cayenne was developing the same system errors others had experienced on their Macan EV’s.
