Since I've ordered my Cayenne EV S I've been thinking about any extra insurance options that are usually pushed with the finance "guy". I'm coming from driving BMW's for years and this is my first Porsche. I generally decline all of the options they offer but given this is a Porsche and unforeseen issues can be costly is there anything that previous owners would strongly suggest. I will pay cash for anything I choose to avoid extra finance cost on my lease........ Thanks!

The wheel and tire protection package is well worth it. All too often a nail in the tire cannot be plugged and they will replace the tire at no charge. Curb rash, while we all try hard to avoid, is also covered. Have not had to use on my 911S but have had it on my Audi eTron and it was well worth the money spent.

Agree fully on tire and wheel insurance. Coming from a vehicle family, my uncle who was a General Manager at the largest dealership in a very large U.S. city, one night after too many drinks, told me of every dealership advantage (and game). As the OP has historically practiced, for the rest here who are unaware, everything a Finance Manager sells are the highest margin products a dealership offers. When the FM starts his/her canned presentation, of course with a stack of 15+ papers I need to sign, I gentler but firmly 8interrupt him but saying, “you have a CHOICE of one by one trying to upsell me on stuff I will not buy and wasting twenty minutes of YOUR time, or save all that time except that wheel and tire for that is the ONE thing other than the vehicle you will sell me today. Usually they remember my direction until three minutes into the conversation and then revert to their usual pattern of re-starting with such things as,. “the advantages of route buying Nitorgen for our wheel fill.”’ I cut him/her off very forcefully during their release and say, “STOP, since I purchased your wheel and tire insurance, I am getting up and leaving this room unless you right now return to ONLY vehicle signing papers.” They take a breath, shocked that I talked to them that way and we reduce the time in their office to a very short while.

Re wheel and tire, please know that there is also large margin in it, so do not hesitate when they say, “that will be $1,500,” I respond, “you will only buy it at $1,200.”

We are polite acquaintenaces at the end of our 15 minute, total time meeting, but the meeting went on my terms; yet their are in the end please, for they officiallly sold the vehicle and saved 15+ minutes of their time —the one thing every FM is always short of.

I bought this car from the same salesman that sold me my Macan last year. Before collection he sent me a dealer document in which I had to confirm that I had been offered …… When I met with him he he said “I’m assuming you don’t want anything other than the W&T insurance, I’ve checked with the insurer and they will credit you prorata the amount back no longer required - so I received £ 350 and the new 3 year is £ 750. A great deal I think As that is the cost of just 1 tyre or 1 wheel refurb.
