Hi,
in Macan, sport + mode was included in air suspension regardless of sport chronic package. Standard equipment for Cayenne base model says electronically controlled damping system Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with continuous regulation of damping force and three manually selectable modes ('Normal', 'SPORT', 'SPORT PLUS'). Sport chronic package in configurator stating expansion of Porsche Stability Management (PSM) by a Sport mode. I am confused. Any ideas?

Thx

All cars that are in the videos have Sport chrono, I think @CHP is referring to what you get if you don't opt for it.
Exactly, Macan comes with four manually selectable modes ('Normal', 'SPORT', 'SPORT PLUS' and 'Offroad') when you option air suspension (This feature is currently affected by supply restrictions - please check availability with your Porsche Centre. ). Air suspension is standard on Cayenne so why mentioning additional sports mode .

Both, Macan and Cayenne, have 5 ride positions but Cayenne only has 3 selectable modes (no off-road). Based on image from Porsche website, there seem to be different off-road modes (I assume at least 3, as they mention rocks and off-road II). Just wonder how they are activated.

My question, which modes will be available via PASM steering wheel dial? I am slightly worried it's only normal and sport for those without chrono like me. I really like the off-road function once you reach those non tarmac car parks with multiple smaller ponds (you never know how deep these potholes are once they are filled with water - nearly beached my wife's Mini).

All modes but if you don't have Sports Chrono (although chronic is more amusing) then Sports Plus drive mode will be absent. PASM Sports Plus is independent. Same as other Porsche models. Pointless on the base model IMHO.

I find it hard to believe that the Cayenne won’t have an off-road function. The Macan still offers both the off-road mode and lift function even without the Chrono package, so in my opinion, if they provide that on the lowest-tier model, it will almost certainly be available on the Cayenne as well.

I am only after the air suspension setting. Guess you can program mood modes with different settings.

Just wonder if I should get engine sound, base has V6 sound. Not to bad but V8 for turbo sounds amazing. SciFy sound on Macan is utterly annoying so never used it.

Picture clearly shows turbo without off-road package. So yes, all will have off-road modes. Just wonder if they will be able via dial or menu. Didn't watch all videos in full (for months spare information and now hours of videos), did one show mood modes? I guess you can program them.

Are you saying that even if you spec Porsche Electric Sports Sound on the base Cayenne, the sound in Sports Plus will be a V6 sound rather than the V8 sound?

Yes, that's my assumption. Scroll down for sound. Turbo has a different sound. S seems to have the same as base.

Would love to have the sound, but realistically, most of the time driving alone would be in the city (20 mph) and I am quite certain the fun emphasising on acceleration on B roads would be outweigh by my wife's comments to slow down.

Thanks for the heads-up. That's a bit crap. Was looking forward to having the V8 sound option. I assumed it was like the Taycan where the base models and the Turbo had the same sound, with only the GTS having a unique sound.

Slight clarification/ correction here. SC needed for Sports Plus.

Base Cayenne has Off Road mode.

Thank's. That's settled:

Mode switch: Normal, Sport, Comfort and Offroad
PASM: more options
Mood modes: ?programmable

Seems I have to go through all options again, seems there have been some changes after configuring the car. Have a look below:

That's what I get being logged in (saved config):

Steering wheel, gearshift/selector lever

Steering wheel heating
Can be switched on and off with feedback in the instrument cluster, activated via the control button on the steering wheel.

That's what I get being logged out:

Steering wheel, gearshift/selector lever

Multifunctional steering wheel in leather including steering wheel heating and Mode-Switch
- Mode-Switch for selecting the drive modes: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus*, Comfort and Offroad
- Predefined drive modes can be customised with various sporty vehicle settings, such as suspension level (note: setting options are equipment-dependent)

*Sport Plus mode is only available in conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package
Steering wheel heating
Can be switched on and off with feedback in the instrument cluster, activated via the control button on the steering wheel
Steering wheel with manual fore/aft and height adjustment

There is nothing to confirm, just discrepancy between standard specs. I assume my previous build is linked to older spec.
