I’m waiting whilst they link the new fob on Thursday. They are sure this will solve the problem. They have lots of fobs in stock in the expectation that all new car owners with the trackers fitted by them may come calling.

Vodafone sent a command to the tracker which should temporarily solve it too. Can’t complain about the speed of response or service provided.
Do you have to have the Vodafone tracker?🫪

It did make a marginal difference to the insurance. I have had trackers on my last 6 new cars so seem to order without thinking.

Originally I used them for claiming business miles (before the days apps provided that). Now the Vodafone is also an immobiliser (which I absolutely know works !) it is that bit better at preventing theft. There are people that say if their car is stolen they don’t want it back and I understand that. But the majority of thefts are for breaking the car for spares who don’t damage the car, rather than joy riders wrecking the car for ’fun’.

I had to have it on my Turbo. Condition with Porsche insurance
Same here in the Netherlands. It's mandatory for the Turbo with Porsche Insurance. However, the premium is only marginally higher than the Cayenne base model I was previously ordering.

Previously had Macan Turbo insured with them, "transferred" the policy to the Cayenne and in real terms Premium went down £15... Makes no sense to me but not complaining

Yes but can you fit other makes of tracker instead and are they better or not ?
You probably can, but problems with my 2nd Macan EV were blamed on Tracker. Since tracker was installed by Porsche I was able to return car. Based on my experience, go with recommend Tracker and Porsche install.

Vodafone are overwhelmed by calls to link the replacement fobs. I brought my car in at 9am for the dealer to link the replacement fob - 3 hrs later I was still waiting. The dealer offered a curtesy car but we thought it would only take an hour. I knew somehow it would be like this as Vodafone only seem to have the same person on the phones !

Vodafone told the dealer to use the existing fob to link. When I finally got home 2 replacement fobs from Vodafone were there via the post. They are different. I'll get them linked next week when the queue on Vodafone may be shorter. The one on the left in the photo is the one the dealer was told to link and the replacement is on the right

That's really odd? I've been sent the "new fobs" and they look exactly the same. I.e. the left/top version on the photo above. Do you have pictures of the back?

Ive also received a text message saying Driver Card battery low, please replace it? I thought the battery wasn't replaceable and the message doesn't say which card is flat!

No unfortunately not. I think the face of them are so different that you’ll easily see if you have the correct replacement.

Only 2 weeks ago Vodafone sent the previous version as a replacement and then told the dealer to link an old one too. I’m getting it sorted on Thursday- the dealer is adamant that they need to link it due to the acoustic glass and an antenna (Vodafone say nothing about this).
