Picked up my new Cayenne S EV on Saturday and it is everything that I was expecting, really happy so far. I wonder if anyone has tried to drive with their back seats down? There seems to be a default that when you put the back seats down, the driver seat moves forward to prevent any contact, nice touch. However, you can’t move the drivers seat back to the original position, anyone got ideas how to change this? I am not that tall at 5 foot 10 but the set position is not how I want to drive.

Use the memory buttons on the driver's door OR when you have the position set and the comfort feature enabled your settings should automatically be saved to the active profile assigned to your key and recalled when you unlock the car.

Thank you for the response, I have tried that and is not moving back to position. Maybe a fault, I have asked the dealership and as its a new they are looking into it for me.

The online manual indicates that the seat should automatically return when the back seats are put upright again. It looks like you can't move the seats back at all whilst they are down. Have you seen if removing the head rests means the drivers seat doesn't go as far forward (I doubt it though).

Sounds like a design flaw. Since you’ve escalated to your dealer, maybe/hopefully it is something that can be remedied with a software update.

Thanks for the heads up!

I have an S on order. Any other nuances that you’ve discovered?

I’ve noticed that the mileage in the drivers screen uses European full stop instead of UK, US etc comma so cumulative mileage is displayed as 5.000 and not 5,000. Should confuse the second hand market when cars are advertised as having 32.000 miles on !

I have an S on order at the moment did you bother with rear wheel steer or the passenger display when you spec’d yours up. My order freezes early next month so I’m now suddenly trying to deicide if I should add options last minute. Right now it Bose vs Burmester

I opted for Rear wheel steering and the premium package (which includes the passenger display)

This should be the same as my current order: https://porsche-code.com/PVQBRQ30

Personally. my order of preference (based on usefulness and budget) would be: rear wheel / axle steering (parking will be a doddle), Bose is likely good (standard is probably fine for most non-audiophiles) and passenger display would be pointless and never used.

Had RAS on 2 Taycans and would always tick the box - both Taycan and Cayenne EV are long cars - one of the more useful options that is used all of the time without you knowing it.

So we can't use our Cayennes as a Van is what we're learning here...
This is very interesting. I just got mine delivered and experienced the exact same issue. I have raised the matter with my local dealer and Porsche itself and received, somehow, a valid explanation that they are trying to solve.

Apparently, the seat doesn't go back to its original position because it doesn't know if the headrest from the back seat is fully up or fully down. They are trying to solve that by making an acknowledgment in the menu system, where you have to indicate to the system that the headrest is either fully up or fully down (so it knows how far back it can move the seat).

That is, to me, something they should have tested and not let the end user conduct those tests when the car is delivered. It's useless as a van if your driving position is compromised so much that you can't really return to your normal driving position when you use the car as a van, as its intended use. That whole boot space doesn't really make sense if you can't use it properly.

I too have the new Cayenne S Electric and have discovered the fault which my Posche dealer cannot fix.
When I drop the rear seat backs the front seats move forward then move only halfway back.
They do not move back to the drivers saved position or by the side seat button and there is a wide gap between the rear head rests and the back of the drivers seat.
You cannot move the drivers seat back any further so it makes the driving position extremely tight and nigh on impossible to drive.
I am only 5'6" and I cannot sit in the drivers seat and drive safely. Anyone over 6' would not be able to drive.
I took it in to Porsche York and they tried another Cayenne EV and it had the same problem.

It is a complete disaster. I am 181 cm (6 feet) tall, and I simply cannot sit in the vehicle. It is astonishing to me that Porsche has not conducted adequate testing in this regard. When purchasing a Porsche, particularly their top model van, such considerations should have been thoroughly evaluated.

Agreed! My dealership has no solution either, we need to keep pestering until they find one. I use my car every week with the seats down for a short journey but would like to know that I could still drive longer distances if I wanted. Not great Porsche!
