70 speed limit, dashed line, maybe he was just trying to pass a caravan quickly.

One of my pet peeves, people driving 10mph+ under the speed limit, 15+ under uphill, then downhill, where the passing is finally allowed, they go 10+ over the limit. If you need to pass 4 or more cars like this, it helps to have a decent speed differential. 120 might be overkill, but if people are doing 80 (70+10), you probably need 100 to pass them safelyand therefore swiftly. I wish passing was allowed uphills, where people who drive like they'd ride a cow (get on and point it in a general direction, not paying attention to speed, signaling, who they're blocking or cutting off) tend to drive real slow. But I get that allowing passing uphill could make even more of a mess, with underpowered cars trying to pass with 1mph speed differential while oncoming traffic is flying downhill (or worse, unseen over the hill).

That's not the road he was caught speeding on (A556).
It's a road off it where the Police had pulled him.

The A556 is a dual carriageway with 2 lanes in each direction.
Some places (not where he was caught) there no central barrier and 60mph each way. Quite dangerous and often bad accidents.

Generally 60mph (national speed limit) unless marked otherwise on single carriage (2 lanes) roads.
