Of course I want everyone else on the road to have this feature enabled... but not my car. And most everyone else will want the same for themselves. it's normal to want everyone else to act safely and within reasonable limits but "downright un-american" to want to have your own behavior limited...
I'm just super happy that true GT cars and the sleek coupe style are coming back. Yea, it's a bit tall, but it's definitely not an SUV. Therefore I like it. Now lower it back to to Estoque height and make the wheels a bit smaller and I'll like it even more.
I do wish that Porsche hired better software engineers and that Electrify America was as reliable as the Tesla charging network. I also wish Tesla was a lot more like Porsche, with dramatically better handling, much better fit and finish, and much more premium interiors in their premium models.
Humor attempt:
When I pull up your build code, I see this picture of a 911 skeleton and a $300K price tag. I take this to mean that it would take a few $ hundred grand more to buy a "complete" Porsche GT car.
Based only on looks and the spec sheet, I would want one... if I wanted an SUV, which I defiitely do not. Fingers crossed that the actual product lives up to the promise, because that's a good looking car.
Well the weights do seem to be surprisingly close. I found the Taycan Turbo S curb weight to be 5,101 lbs ( https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/taycan/taycan-models/taycan-turbo-s/ ) while the Cayenne Turbo is 5,056 lbs - or up to 5,673 for the hybrid. Well that's a surprise.
The Panamara Turbo...
Increased energy density is definitely in the cards over the next 5-10 years, and will make for even better EVs. That said, I don't forsee any 400lb 93Kwh packs any time soon.
The entire Taycan battery pack weighs 630kg / 1,389lbs (1). The pack consists of 396 LG Chem pouch cells (1). Each cell...
I have a prediction: Porsche will keep claiming that there will be no 911 EV... until they very suddenly announce otherwise, in 5-6 years, when they declare that the new 800HP 911 EV with lightweight solid-state/lithium-sulphur/other new tech batteries is a better sports car car than any ICE...
I used to love the sound of a great engine at speed - Jaguar XKR, many Ferraris, etc.
But after owning a Taycan (my first EV) for one month, I am over it. I look forward to a time - not long from now - when a noisy car is an anachronism as much as the smell of a catalytic converter-free car is now.
I first fell in love with the Audi based entirely on photos, preferring it to to Taycan. In person, however, I preferred the Taycan by a wide margin; I just could not stomach the Audi "single frame" front end.
In the end, I bought a Taycan GTS, but I certainly understand why someone would want...
