Re insulated glass option or not, none of us yet know how quiet the Caynene EV will be with or without it. I am only offer a cousin comparison from our 2024 Macan EV Turbo. We have never been bothered by outside noises though for sure a deliberately loud car or motorcycle or an emergency vehicle is clearly head. After our six months of ownership when we consequently thought our CPO had the insulated glass, I looked to find out that I was wrong, that we do not. We have made trips to big cities, been in stop and go traffic highways in the suburbs and again never once felt our car was too noisy. FWIW, my hearing is excellent.

Perhaps that option on the Cayenne is similar? Perhaps not needed???
Thanks for this. With the macan and Cayenne sharing very similar shape except at the tail I suspect the noise profile would be about the same. I am planning on not choosing the insulated glass option to gain the benefit of improved mobile phone reception and to save a few shekels. I'm also going with the metal roof so the overall thermal insulation will be decent.

I am fairly new to Porsche and have struggled a bit to get my head around the options list and I am hoping to get some help here! Whilst my heart wants to tick the majority of options, my head (and budget) needs to keep the options to a minimum.

I have opted for this configuration: https://porsche-code.com/PT4FJVB2

Apologies in advance but I have loads of questions:
- Wheels: I think wheels make a car, I opted for the 22" Sport Techo. My thinking is that a car this size needs big wheels. The alternative for me is the 21" Sport Aero - is it worth the extra £?
I too have gone for the 22" Sport Techno rims. They're expensive, and with the SportDesign package mandatory, it's an expensive choice...but I think necessary. None of the other rims do it for me. And for any car I own, I have to always to walk away after parking and not be able to help turning back to have a look. I think the only way that would happen is if I specced the 22" Sport Techno rims.

- Windows: I usually black out the window surrounds, but as the colour is black I thought the pop of silver was a nice contrast. Keen that this does not cheapen the car at all. Thoughts?
I would always go with black gloss rather than silver, but that's personal preference.

- Steering: I have not optioned Rear Axle Steering. Have it in the eTron GT and also without in a Q7 - never really noticed the difference and my dealer agrees. The forums seem to consider this a must though?
I first specced RAS on a Taycan GTS I owned. Ever since it is always the first option I tick. I loved it. Have it on my Macan Turbo, and obviously I've specced it on my incoming Cayenne. In fact, I'd say on the Cayenne it's essential.

- Seats: I never adjust my seats once the position is settled....all drivers will have the same driving position. Am I making a mistake not going 14/18 way?
I had the standard 8-way seats on first Taycan, and never felt I was missing out. The 18-way sports seats came standard on my Taycan GTS and Macan Turbo, and I like the way they hug me, and I'm a big bloke and overweight. However, I think you would be happy with the 8-way.

- Sport Design: I have added the Sport Design Package. On the Macan I would consider this essential, but it appears slightly different on the Cayene EV. On Black, is it needed?
As has already been said, if you want the 22" Sport Techno rims, you have no choice but to spec the SportDesign package. This is because it's illegal for wheels to extend beyond the wheel arches, and the Sport Techno rims are 325 rears, so the SportDesign package is designed to extend out further.

And...what else am I missing? What would you consider essential?
The 3D park assist for £417. A fraction of the whole cost of the car and very useful. I'd say it's even essential on a car this big and would be one of the few options required for resale.

The extended leather, but I accept that's expensive.

Some kind of embossed logo in the interior. I've always gone with the embossed Porsche crest on the headrests, but for a change I'm going with the embossed Porsche crest on the armrest, and the illuminated "Porsche" logo on the sports seats.

I was considering this but my dealer said it's a waste of money, and brings with it some issues such as phone reception. Also, I've read that it's good at reducing wind noise, but does nothing for tyre noise, and that will be the dominant noise you'll hear, especially if you go for wide rims. I'm getting the 22" Sport Techno rims wuth 325 rears, so I doubt the glass will make any difference.

2. I will try the seats again, resale is not an issue as it will be a lease.

Sometimes if you miss a vital option for resale, the lease price actually goes up because it reduces the future value.

You might want to try the different seats in a Porsche dealership. The seats you have speced don't have memory which could be important for resale but not essental.

Driver memory is standard. It doesn't have passenger memory.

Thanks for the quick response.
1. Wheels - I originally started with RS Spyder design! But I think I will stick with the Sport Techo 22s.
2. I will try the seats again, resale is not an issue as it will be a lease.
3. You are correct on the Sports Design with the 22s - and on the black it might actually be needed more anyway.
4. I will have a think about the Rear Axle Steering. It was the Porsche dealer that made me think it was not needed. But most of the specs on here all have it included....people vote with their money!
5. Headrest crests - I will add these. I have them on the Macan.... but in reality I never notice them.

Thanks again.
RAS - depends where you live. I really like it and it made the Macan EV driving like a hot hatch. Is it needed? Not really, occasionally it helps on very sharp turns but you are at risk of damaging your rear tyres. Only needed it ones due to very awkward street layout - who does 150 degree bends in narrow streets? Do you have delivery date?

My UK Turbo Build.
Just debating on whether to stay with Vanadium Grey or switching to either Pale Blue Metallic or even Algarve Blue.
https://porsche-code.com/PTDJ4UF8
Since freezing date seems still far away, I play a lot with colours and rims. I really like pale blue with techno rims. Algarve blue however seems a safer bet and you can't go wrong with vanadium grey. Don't think black works for Turbo or sport trim. I enjoy Macans in rarer colours but I am not sure if I would get tiered of it if it would be my own car. Any delivery date?

Thanks for the comments.
No delivery date or even spec lock date yet.

The configurator does not corroborate:

You're quoting the U.S. configurator. I was replying to somebody in the UK.

However, the "Memory Package" is also standard in the U.S. Look under "standard equipment" and then "interior comfort". So if you just take the standard 8-way seats, you will get the memory function on the driver seat only. If you take the 14-way comfort seats or 18-way sports seats, you will get the memory function for the passenger also.

You'll loose lumbar support if you go standard though. I had 3 settings programmed for my Macan EV, city with higher seating position, long distance and b-roads (sport). Mood modes will adjust seating position as well so I would consider getting comfort seats.

I double checked and yes you are correct. Another difference is that steering position is manually adjustable with 8-way seats. I prefer manual adjustments.
