Happy New Year. Struggling with interior. Would have loved brighter leather like cognac or race tex/pepita with leather. Cognac with Pepita heritage was my all time favourite. Maybe we get more choices in the next few days when build slots come available but highly doubt it. Really don’t like two tone seats in the back so left with all black as only option. Forgot to mention, get rear boot cover mat. I had the rubber one for frunk and boot in Macan EV. Both are snug fit but boot always looks little unsightly so wouldn’t option again. Frunk is great for wellies, dirty shoes or sand toys.

May I ask for your opinion on my build? https://porsche-code.com/PT7ANI59
Looks good.
If you like your music, the Burmeister is very good (I sat in ICE Cayennes in the showroom this week and compared the 2 and the Burmeister is superb (Bose is completely ok unless you are fussy!)

the surface heating is lovely and worth considering. I have it on my BMW iX and love the fact the centre console and arm rests in the door hear up when the seat heats up.

I agree about the interior colours. I’d love the chalk but also don’t like the fact the seats are then 2 tone.

Production slot received in april with delivery expected in May or early June.
Here is my spec I'd be more than happy to hear your opinions on it.
https://porsche-code.com/PTSWR684

A few pointers:
- 3 year lease, so I am not optioning for ownership a longer period
- I have three kids car seats in the back for at least 3 years
- Tow hitch not needed due availability of bigger cars for transport etc.
- Give me all the tips!! Would also love an honest opinion on my Race-tex interior option. (How is the steering wheel for longer drives etc)

Thanks in advance!

The UK configurator seems to have had more options added so I’ve changed my build spec.
paid the deposit on launch date (same day I ordered a Macan EV). The Macan is confirmed for a Feb build and 1st week of March collection but still no build slots for the Cayenne EV!

My build (hopefully final!) is below:

https://porsche-code.com/PT52HV58

Thoughts on spec and options are welcomed!
Personal choice but I would skip heated surfaces and electric doors (can't help but think they'll be problematic and pointless - soft close is std which is useful).

Body coloured door mirrors?

Enjoy!

Skip racetex for the steering wheel.

I have pepita in my wife's Macan T - looks OK for a change.

Remote Parking I'd skip as it will inevitably be problematic and slow in operation.

Enjoy!

I’ve got the heated surfaces in my BMW iX and it’s a game changer. It’s lovely having both arms resting on a heated surfaces

you may be right about the electric doors. It’s a bit of a gimmick but I like the idea!

body coloured mirrors is a good call.

I agree about the remote parking. I had a trial of it on my BMW iX and it’s very slow. It’s a good thing to show people but pretty much useless in real world scenarios.

Dropped €11,5K since my first config, this is what I am looking at right now:
https://porsche-code.com/PTJMD840

Am I skipping any must-haves?
In a car this big, insulated glass is almost a must in my opinion. If you can’t choose it for all windows, I’d at least go for insulated glass on the front side windows. I’ve driven Macans and Taycans back to back, both with and without insulated glass, and the difference in cabin noise is honestly quite noticeable, almost disturbing once you’ve experienced the quieter setup. You can also hear the difference yourself by checking the sound option in the configurator.

HD-Matrix headlights are another option I’d personally choose. Coming from the LED-Matrix in the Macan, I find them a bit underwhelming compared to what Mercedes and other German manufacturers offer. The HD-Matrix headlights make the car much more competitive in that area and are well worth it. Since you also have a lot of countryside roads (like we do in Sweden), you would benefit from them a lot, especially for night driving.

Thanks for your reply. I have the macan ev right now, and have the insulated glass in it as well. But I still think it's a bit noisy. I will try to testdrive one without and make up my mind on this one.

My macan has the matrix led as well. I think they perform way better than Audi's matrix led (on my e-tron suv). Also, you only profit from this with high beam on. I don't like the 'extra' illumination of your drivelane. I think it just makes the surrounding more dark, instead of additional highlighting certain zones. I do like the looks of the hd matrix, but it doesn't justify the extra money for me.

I am fairly new to Porsche and have struggled a bit to get my head around the options list and I am hoping to get some help here! Whilst my heart wants to tick the majority of options, my head (and budget) needs to keep the options to a minimum.

I have opted for this configuration: https://porsche-code.com/PT4FJVB2

Apologies in advance but I have loads of questions:
- Wheels: I think wheels make a car, I opted for the 22" Sport Techo. My thinking is that a car this size needs big wheels. The alternative for me is the 21" Sport Aero - is it worth the extra £?
- Windows: I usually black out the window surrounds, but as the colour is black I thought the pop of silver was a nice contrast. Keen that this does not cheapen the car at all. Thoughts?
- Steering: I have not optioned Rear Axle Steering. Have it in the eTron GT and also without in a Q7 - never really noticed the difference and my dealer agrees. The forums seem to consider this a must though?
- Seats: I never adjust my seats once the position is settled....all drivers will have the same driving position. Am I making a mistake not going 14/18 way?
- Sport Design: I have added the Sport Design Package. On the Macan I would consider this essential, but it appears slightly different on the Cayene EV. On Black, is it needed?

And...what else am I missing? What would you consider essential?

Thanks in advance.

Agree with you in the 22" Sport Techno Wheels. I believe it is mandatory to also spec the Sport Design Package as the wider tyres on these wheels need the extended arches. If you want to save ££ the 21" RS Spyder Design wheels also look nice as well as the Sport Aero.
- Windows: I usually black out the window surrounds, but as the colour is black I thought the pop of silver was a nice contrast. Keen that this does not cheapen the car at all. Thoughts? I personally agree that the silver will give a nice contrast but others may prefer the black.
- Steering: I have not optioned Rear Axle Steering. Have it in the eTron GT and also without in a Q7 - never really noticed the difference and my dealer agrees. The forums seem to consider this a must though? Each to their own. I have Rear Axle Steering on my Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo and on my Range Rover L460 and notice a huge difference compared to previous Taycan & RR that didn't have it.
- Seats: I never adjust my seats once the position is settled....all drivers will have the same driving position. Am I making a mistake not going 14/18 way? You might want to try the different seats in a Porsche dealership. The seats you have speced don't have memory which could be important for resale but not essental.
- Sport Design: I have added the Sport Design Package. On the Macan I would consider this essential, but it appears slightly different on the Cayene EV. On Black, is it needed?
Again I believe this is a mandatory option with the wheels you have chosen. If you didn't have it you wouldn't be able to spec those wheels and also you would lose all the lovely Gloss back on the arches and lower sides for a dull grey colour. On my Turbo that i have ordered I haven't ordered it as I prefer the standard front & rear of Turbo and the Turbo comes with all the Gloss Black bits and arch extensions as standard anyway.

And...what else am I missing? What would you consider essential?
For the sake of £243/£389 I'd probably add the Porsche Crest on Front/All Headrests for a nice touch

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response.
1. Wheels - I originally started with RS Spyder design! But I think I will stick with the Sport Techo 22s.
2. I will try the seats again, resale is not an issue as it will be a lease.
3. You are correct on the Sports Design with the 22s - and on the black it might actually be needed more anyway.
4. I will have a think about the Rear Axle Steering. It was the Porsche dealer that made me think it was not needed. But most of the specs on here all have it included....people vote with their money!
5. Headrest crests - I will add these. I have them on the Macan.... but in reality I never notice them.

Thanks again.

My UK Turbo Build.
Just debating on whether to stay with Vanadium Grey or switching to either Pale Blue Metallic or even Algarve Blue.
https://porsche-code.com/PTDJ4UF8

Colour is such a personal choice. When looking at the paler colours I personally like the "Exterior package painted in Black (PK5)" as well to frame the colours and tie in the lower elements in black gloss as well.

I originally opted for Vanadium but ended up going for all Black... may still change my mind.

Re insulated glass option or not, none of us yet know how quiet the Caynene EV will be with or without it. I am only offer a cousin comparison from our 2024 Macan EV Turbo. We have never been bothered by outside noises though for sure a deliberately loud car or motorcycle or an emergency vehicle is clearly head. After our six months of ownership when we consequently thought our CPO had the insulated glass, I looked to find out that I was wrong, that we do not. We have made trips to big cities, been in stop and go traffic highways in the suburbs and again never once felt our car was too noisy. FWIW, my hearing is excellent.

Perhaps that option on the Cayenne is similar? Perhaps not needed???
