I was actually one of those who ordered one and then cancelled my order a couple of months later after test drive was available and I could try the car. So yeah it’s really not the best handling for this power.
Haven’t read about these before but honestly if these were available now I think I’d be sorely tempted to save 30k vs my 4S build and get one. Maybe next car!

Brother has one and I’ve a 4S CT. As a day to day driver he prefers his and I prefer mine. Power is very similar but we both feel the 4S Is far better when being pushed. £30k isn’t to be sniffed at but nothing feels better and makes you feel better than driving a Porsche. We only moved into EVs for the tax benefits, he was in an M5 Comp and I had a 740. Time will tell where secondhand values will be and that’s when we decide to buy again or not. Do like the Lotus but not seen in person, brother has a Mecan EV on order and should be an early one

These are two different types of cars. The I4 M50 doesnt have to be bad for the Taycan to be good. Haven’t driven the BMW but have seen several very positive reviews and its won a few awards. Looks like a solid choice for the money and it maintains some of its BMW DNA in the way Taycan does for Porsche.

Yeh I went through the bmw one last night and thought I'd missed something - playing with the Porsche one is great but must admit it was a less stressful buying process with limited options.

The other difference is that my the time I'd chosen the M Sport model the majority of the options were automatically included
Exactly! You feel robbed. ? Mind you, you realise that all the mandatory stuff like good stereo, a battery, etc is automatically included so no need for so many options.

It may or may not be a great car, but I hope we all can agree that it has a face only its mother could love. I mean, are they trying to make ugly fetch?

Ugly sells nowadays. The more ugly BMWs get, the more sales they have. Die hard BMW fanboys would still buy them, but only in blacks.

Yes, and apparently cosmetic, non-functioning turn signals are doing super well for BMWs too!

Porsche aside, all the other lets say lower high end brands like MB, Audi and BMW claim to be configurable, but bundling make them almost as static as others. MB EQE: want sun roof? Sorry you cant have trailer hitch. Want acoustic glacing? BAM! Add premium + pack at 9K including necessities like perfume making your car smell like wunderbaum. BMW: dont want sun roof? Sorry cant have B&W stereo. I think for the Taycan only collision was roof rails and glass roof. On the other hand, being new to Porsche I didnt realise they include more goodies in the higher models. If I knew then what I know now I probably would have gotten a GTS rather than S - for me and my options the price difference was insignificant

These are 2 completely different cars. I have both of them and like them both. I do not compare them at all. They drive differently, have different tech and each has its own appeal.
Can you share what the appeal is to you about the BMW? I’d love to hear your opinion. Genuinely interested as I have zero experience with the BMW.

The strange thing is, that the latest model, i3, only for the Chinese market has ZERO bling and "regular" external design.

Everything out of Germany however is full of ugly bling and front, with the excuse that they design it for the Chinese market...

Sure, they drive great and in general have very few problems. I purchased the i4 while I was waiting for the current Taycan I have (took 9 months) because I needed a get around town car. The i4 fits that purpose perfectly. I’m not driving a Porsche to the grocery store, a crowded mall or leaving it at the airport . The i4 is fast when I want to go and has great range. Wasn’t a huge fan of the grill at first but it has grown on me. So no complaints.

My wife loved her 2016 BMW 330i and our plan was replace w/ a new BMW, preferably electric, this year. Then we saw the new BMW front-end design at a local auto show.

She took one look and said, "no way." Shortly thereafter started shopping for a Taycan.

Honest question: Why on earth not? I don't have anything other than Porsches so I by definition use them to go to grocery stores, malls, airports, and even the dump with trash in the back . . .

I'm not saving my girlfriend for her next boyfriend . . . (to be clear, I don't like my Porsche THAT much or in THAT way ;) )

P.S. I'm not anti-BMW and have owned a few. I'm not into the new styling but that is entirely a personal preference so would never seriously discuss that point with anyone apart from joking around.
