If tire tread width and/or sidewall ratio is something of interest to you, only one, the 22” Cayenne Sport Techno, comes with wider 285/325 tires. The remaining eight wheel choices all come with 275/315’s. Sidewall ratio is not however unique to the SportTehcno’s. As the SportTechno’s echo many lighter weight constructionsimilar wheels previously and currently other Porsches, if one is planning to get the turbo and/or highly exercise their Cayenne EV, that wheel is worthy of special consideration. Also a personal opinion, its style is a perennial good looker. In comparison, all 21” wheels only come with the 275/285’s— and all them have the 45/40 softer sidewall ratio. However there are other 22 inch wheels which similarly offer the 40/35 sidewalls, e.g., wheels previously selection has consequences other than just looks (and price).

What are your thoughts on the 20”s? Thinking of comfort, tire noise and also range.

20’s are always the smartest choice for the reasons you noted but visuals for wheels take over from my common sense. I would go with the below 21” ones if ordering today, e.g., liking their looks, reasonable price, and midway range.

Range difference between 20 and 21 is no concern for Cayenne unlike Macan (wider wheel arches and tyres). I didn't notice a significant difference between both in comfort or handling on Macan with air suspension. As far as I am aware, tyre circumference remains identical for 20 to 22 inch like Macan but Cayenne has significantly wider wheel arches.

Visually the 21 above (the one we have chosen) give kind of a 22 inch impression but have seen scratched rims on cheaper non European small hatch (can't recall make and model) with nearly identical design. Not a big deal according to my colleague who caries a black touch up pen in his Taycan to immediately paint over scratches. The 3D with kerb warning may help with parking but I managed to scratch my 20 inch left rear tyre while driving (possibly due to RWS misjudging turning circle, didn't notice).

That explains why the Sport Techno needs to be combined with SportDesign package on base model. Didn't notice.
