Yep, porsche needs to do better, the gap between the Taycan and the Rimac is almost 30 seconds!

Last I checked, Porsche owns 45% of Rimac. I am sure that the Mission X will take the crown again.

Hyundai as well has got shares! So next we will see Hyundai beating porsche and Rimac?
None of the HyperCar makers has seen EV future coming… and now they are all behind…

Interesting.
The bulk of its gain is on power, ieacceleration & straights, nothing super special in the corners. I am slightly surprised.
Impressive though.

I must say though despite believing EVs and plug-in hybrids are the best solution for road transport I prefer IC engines for track particularly racing where batteries are flat too soon.

The only real gain of modern Formula 1 cars today is in fuel consumption, an IC engined car with the same power would be about 150 to 200kg lighter and much faster probably with better racing (but would lose the big sponsorship the car companies are pouring in).

It kinda has to be in the straights doesn't it? The corners are about lateral grip and clearly they are at the limit. They are going to corner at similar speeds I'd guess.

The tyres make a vast difference as would any downforce, though road cars normally have lift.

I was disappointed by the Rimac latac, a few big peaks but little sustained high values.

It might be significantly attributable to differences between the audio recordings, but the Taycan's tyres sound like they're taking a lot more punishment under braking and cornering, than those of the Rimac.
