In California's Mojave Desert, Porsche and Stratolaunch set out to answer that question with a challenge unlike any before. Behind the wheel, racing driver Patrick Long pushed the most powerful production Porsche ever made to its limits, accelerating alongside Roc—the world's largest aircraft—as it prepared for takeoff.

Months of planning, engineering, and precision came down to a single attempt, where timing, stability, and confidence had to align perfectly.

Watch the full story behind one of the most ambitious demonstrations of Porsche performance yet.

Patrick Long was long ago a hero of mine when as we remember the time when he was the only American on the Porsche Cup racing team. Always been one of the good guys!

I watched this entire video - I'm not sure of the point…

virtually _ANY_ Porsche could've done this - the speeds were well under acceleration and top speed limits for any Porsche I've owned since 2008…

seems a lot of work and complexity for a demonstration that simply requires one drive in a straight line at high speeds…

color me unimpressed - other than as a waste of marketing money's.
