Yes, when i attempted to get a quote on a turbo. haven't had time to try calling them yetMatt. Is that when you tried to get a Turbo ? I’ve just got a quote for a S and it was only £ 250 more than a base.
Thanks, I will try and add one to my Admiral multicarI’ve got quotes from Porsche Insurance and LV= (now part of Alianz) for a Coupe base in Essex.
Hmm, that did not work. Thanks, I will try and add one to my Admiral multicar
Managed to get a quote from LV on the Turbo - 20 years protected no claims, 3 points, Swindon area. Premium was £2800, which is a huge amount of cash but considering the performance, kind of what I was expectingNot surprised - I am with Admiral and they declined to quote any Cayenne EV’s. I tried recently and still declined - I have 2 cars and the house insured so they’ll lose more than one car insurance.
Yeah I figured it was a system error but as my car is a few months off I am waiting before getting into it more. Good tip on LV, we have used in the past so will take a look.Cutting42 - I had exactly the same problem. However, if you get a quote just for the car (as Compare did) and not as an amendment to your Multi policy it works. I spent ages on the phone and they now recognise that the new policy grades the car as Group 50 but the Mulit system grades it as 99 uninsurable !
If you want to stick with Admiral try calling 0330 333 5512 - they were sorting it out for me but the LV= is cheaper and they use UK call centres, not overseas ones.
Great news, I am now a bit more confident on insuring itCutting42 - Admiral called - I can’t believe it but the revised quote now has the correct car - Porsche Cayenne EV (mine is a Coupe but the description is just the power). Taking my Macan S off and substituting the Cayenne is a reduction of £ 700 ! I think their system is screwed but I’ve accepted it and will have the docs in an hour for my collection on Tuesday.
