I've chose this option for my Cayenne electric but now second guessing due to the report of cell phone degradation. I would appreciate anyone with real world experience commenting. Thanks!

Don’t hesitate! I’ve never noticed any issues with cellphone signal degradation, and I’ve compared it with Macans, Cayennes, and Taycans (loaners) without the thermal insulated glass. Also, I’m not particularly sensitive to sound, but after having it optioned in my own car and then sitting in loaners without it, the difference made them feel like vacuum cleaners. I highly recommend it.

I have a Taycan GTS with heat and sound insulating glass and it's not that troublesome for cellphone reception, most of the time the reception is good.

GPS is a nightmare though. So using any phone app that uses GPS often has glitches, including maps on Android Auto. I also have a device that notifies of police control points, hazards and animals on the road, etc. (GPSradar) and it really struggles to get GPS coverage. So much in fact that I had to install a GPS repeater inside the car with an antenna in the rear window.

I still love the quietness, but GPS has been a bit of a pain.

Do not have it in our Macan EV turbo (a CPO ordered without). Do not miss it; do not notice noise outside the vehicle even when in stop-n-go, nor on interstates with vehicles on both sides. Will not order it when this lease is over.

I've done a bunch of reading on this topic and have come to the conclusion I will not opt for it. The Cayenne will be my 5th EV and none of the others had the insulated glass and I found all of those vehicles plenty quiet and the heat was not much of an issue, even though I live in Texas. I've seen on the Taycan forums some, not many, of the insulated glass cracking due to differential thermal expansion. Then there is the reduced phone/GPS reception and of course some extra cost. Sometimes less is more and in this case I came to this conclusion.
