Hello people!

Isn't it funny that newer / electric vehicles always have numbers? haha.

We're trying to replace our BMW X4 M40i with an electric option so that way we're fully electric, test drove those vehicles this weeekend and I do have some impressions that I would like to share. Take in consideration what we test drove are base models, which is what we want, we don't want another expensive car, we already have the Taycan. We want a more cost effective alternative second car. Range is also not a priority. Price target $45-48k.

ID.4. Pro S. loved the suspension, it's so smooth!! seats are a dream, it truly would be a very nice comfortable road trip vehicle. But it was very slow. I don't expect a sports car, but for the $45k, you expect more torque. It's an electric car after all, they should be fun, this is why a lot of people adapt to electric cars, speed and torque, not really into "saving the world". No frunk, that was really bad. Infontainment kinda slow and ugly, but ambient lights are awesome.

EV6. I do not like Kia, never have. But Kia ever since they changed their logo is killing it. Same platform as IONIQ 5, this car I really liked. Snappy UI, suspension not as comfortable as the ID.4, very nice materials used in the cabin, the cabin is a really nice place to be. Better acceleration, but not quite as fun. I do love the looks, boyfriend does not, he thinks it's too futuristic. I particularly love how bold and different it looks, different materials and compositions in the exterior. This car along with the IONIQ 5 are gonna break the market.

Polestar 2. I've always liked these cars, they're beautiful. Surprisingly affordable. Base model does not have panoramic roof, does noit have the cool gold calipers, does not have the nice audio system. It's still fast, comparable to a Dual Motor Model 3. UI is great, made by Google. Space in the backseat is not the greatest but I love the fact it's a sportsback. It does have a frunk. Loved this car, it ain't perfect, but for the price I think this is the winner. Also wait time is 3-4 months, not 8-12 months.

In my opinion, it truly is refreshing to see so many great options!n Cannot buy a Tesla anymore, they're too popular, they're everywhere, I do not like that. Polestar 2 is a new brand, unique looks and it does have the best value for your buck. Volvo is gonna shine with this subsidiary, excited about the future.

Now we shall sell the X4 M40i today... Such a shame, such a fun car, but too much money and it ain't an EV.

We have a mustang Mache, have you looked into that? Just another ev option I wanted to suggest. Has a frunk, phone as key, it’s fast, seats are comfy. We have 3 kids and all fit great. We loved it so much we sold it and ordered a GT version. It’s stupid fast ?

thank you for sharing your opinion on those cars.

On Saturday, I spent 3 hours with the new '22 BMW iX xDrive50. I realize you have a certain budget, but if you decide you want to expand the budget this vehicle is pretty good for what it is. If you can get past the look, the vehicle drives incredibly well, and has tech that puts the Taycan to shame.

The vehicle is pretty roomy on the inside, and about the same size as an X5. I was impressed with the efficiency, and the usable battery - BMW says it will go +300 miles on a full charge.

I am not sure if it is the car for me, but it is pretty good for what it is.

I love the IX, I work for BMW, so I get to see it and drive it. I am very impressed with the car. But that's way out of budget for a second car.

I keep telling my BF that the Mach-E is probably the best option, but he does not like the fact they used the name Mustang in an EV, lol. So there's that. Stupid first world problems.

I think the thing I hate the most is when it’s referred to as an SUV. When you drive it, it’s sporty enough to feel like a mustang, but it sure isn’t an SUV. Also I wasn’t a huge Ford fan but they literally keep all that badging off of it so you don’t feel like you’re driving around in a ford. Definitely give one a drive, it was our toe dip into the ev world and I was hooked ?

I totally get it. Kind of a bummer you don't get an employee discount since the car was way better than I expected.

I was curious if you were able to find cars in inventory to buy once you make your decision? The Cross Turismo I have on order is due to start build this week - a month later than originally anticipated. The Rivian I have on order is not due until mid-2023 or end of 2023. And, the BMW sales guy here in Denver said the waiting list for the new iX was so long that it would not be until the Spring of '23 until I could get one, if I put my name on the list now.

I don't envy you being in the market for a new EV with a super short deadline.

I am very pleased with my Jaguar I Pace. It rides fantastic, the interior and tech are top notch and the range is similar to the taycan.

We're waiting on the new Mini Cooper but obviously not a choice if you need a car sooner as absolute earliest I suspect we can order will be mid-late 2023 with even then no guarantee of an allocation!

First I'd seen of the Kia wagon - appears to be trying hard to echo the CT in certain ways re looks! Agree re value with the Polestar but can't get excited about it for some reason - saw a few locally and I do think they look better in person than in pics here but just seems kind of meh!

The Polestar's fit and finish just looks cheap to me. If I were hunting for a moderately priced EV, the first thing I'd drive is a Mach E.

Previous I-Pace owner. I agree its an incredible machine, but its in a the luxury segment of EVs and over $70k. The driving dynamics and steering are never talked about. To me its the best EV after the J1 brothers
PS Love the portofino blue!

Ive driven all of those and the Polestar is the most fun, but a bigger reason to get the P2 is the Lease program. They have a very attractive lease, no dealer mark ups.
EV6/Ioniq5 do not give you the $7500 as cap reduction for in the lease which is very strange.

Keep it under $55k for the $2k CVRP rebate, you will also get the $750 POS rebate from the dealers

I have a Mini SE. Love it dearly. Fault is in my garage having only a Level 1 charger. I already put down a deposit for a Taycan. Still debating sedan or cross turismo. I really like the cross turismo in ONE video. Kind of hard to pick a car because i like it in ONE video only. I already configured the perfect Sedan. Sigh... In terms of the Polestar 2. Maybe i would look at it differently after i get a Taycan. Right now any other car is going to ruin my plan to get the dream car that i never thought i could get in my lifetime.
