There is nothing to confirm, just discrepancy between standard specs. I assume my previous build is linked to older spec.
The spec hasn't / won't have changed, just a more verbose / helpful description.

Porsche websites are increasingly useless at detailing the basics and force you to delve deeper into the configurator rather than provide a standard spec and list of detailed options on the model page. Years back they did and was easy to download a "brochure".

I am a little older, I remember the days where you got a printed model brochure, colour map and separate price list ;-). Overall, much, much easier nowadays.

There are some minor differences across Europe with Switzerland and UK being outliers. Still mood mode is neither mentioned in options nor standard spec in UK (DE mentioned as option). Like sound (mentioned, but not specified), it's hidden in general model overview. Luckily mood mode in UK is not marked as optional extra.

Still not sure if I should get Matrix HD. Is there any additional functional advantage despite lane brightening? I wasn't too happy with standard Matrix, laggy activation of high beam in comparison to Mercedes for example.

I have HD on my 911 and it is simply fantastic and a step change above standard matrix (mine was OK) and in particular illuminating around other vehicles with a clearly noticeable delineation. Downside is the cost and if you do little night driving is pointless as an upgrade.

Mood mode is not something I'd stress about and is all about interior lighting, music, seating, VLC roof adjustments. Gimmick period.

I do quite a lot of night driving, in particular for long distance I like to start in the dark. I optioned it so thanks for confirming it's worth it.

I like to think I will use Mood modes a lot. Usually I program seating for city, motorway and B roads/fun so I think this would be quite useful. Thank's for the link, I was hoping I could program suspension settings as well. I think this is a miss.

Drive Mode "Individual " is for that purpose as per other Porsches.

I am a one button guy. Seat and suspension combined would have been nice. No dealbreaker but with both configurable in PCM it's a miss in my books.

Yes, that's my assumption. Scroll down for sound. Turbo has a different sound. S seems to have the same as base.

Would love to have the sound, but realistically, most of the time driving alone would be in the city (20 mph) and I am quite certain the fun emphasising on acceleration on B roads would be outweigh by my wife's comments to slow down.

I test drove a base Cayenne yesterday, and the sound in Sport Plus is excellent.

No, as I said, it was the base Cayenne.
Jesus, should put my reading glasses on. What a shame, too late for me unfortunately. Haven't seen the Cayenne yet. Where are you based?

The Netherlands. This was a German-registered example brought in from Stuttgart.

It had 21” rims, no RAS. In comfort mode it was like driving on a cloud. Very different from my Macan Turbo Electric.

I'm really relieved to see a very favourable report of a base, particularly the ride. I was a bit doubtful about ordering a base having a 4S at the moment. Had confirmation today that my Coupe is still scheduled to go in build on the 27th and delivered mid July.

Also somewhat worried coming from an 4S. Difference between 4 and 4S at lower speed is quite significant. Glad ride in comfort mode is brilliant. Cayenne S was not available at time of order but at that price difference not really a justifiable option for me anyway. 4 vs 4s was a no-brainer.

I had insurance concerns and I couldn’t justify in my own mind £ 20k for a 1 second quicker car to 60 with exactly the same options. The base is only 0.7s slower to 62 mph than the Macan 4S so I’m fairly sure it won’t be that noticeable for my driving.

On paper, Cayenne sits between 4 and 4s. On long distance drives this won't really matter. In the city, where the 4s is more alive, I suspect the size difference to be more noticeable than acceleration.

Since we are on the Cayenne forum I can be blunt. The Macan EV interior was very functional (seatbelt clip aside) but didn't feel premium at all. The center console somehow felt cheap beside me optioning the centre console leather package. I had Panamera loaners while my Macans were stuck in diagnostic infinity loops. Build quality, feel and comfort were significantly different, even kids noticed. I also think ICE Macan feels more premium in comparison.

Since I switched my 3rd Macan order to Cayenne I am no longer eligible for loaners while waiting for delivery. I am therefore stuck with my wife's car. As much as it hurts to admit, a smaller car for the city is likely the most sensible choice. There you go, you could spend the 20k price difference on that.
