After watching video reviews it is quite apparent the front console design is seriously flawed. If one is using the cupholders there is no place to rest your elbow because the console lid must be slid backwards to access the cups. This vehicle was to be my family car and my wife constantly lugs around a water bottle. Same with my son.

Looks like I have to cancel my order 😢. I have no real alternative. Everything seems to have one deal breaker for me. I don't even feel like I have a lot of stringent criteria. I don't care much about price, brand, aesthetics or range/charging. I gotta have a hitch for bike hauling, rear seat usable by 185cm/6'1" passengers, software that functions, less than 5m/200" long and no massively dumb ergonomics like the new BMW iX3 steering wheel or this damn Cayenne console design

With all due respect, you’ve said that you wanted to cancel your order two times for what many think are small issues. I do understand your concerns for the tow hook, but Porsche still is a sports car and the main reason people buy the Cayenne is because they still are just that but with family capabilities. If you’re looking for something that is 100% perfect for a big family a Porsche just isn’t for you.

I don't see any problem at all. If you slide console back, it's in the same position as Macan EV. And ergonomics of Macan are stellar. Kia EV9, Hyundai IONIQ 9 or Volvo EX 90 might be a better option for you though.

💡 Thanks for the idea! I also need to see if a 3D printed solution could be implemented. I would have to wait for showroom vehicles to see if either works.

I watched every single video possible to see what I could learn and it seems Porsche made the sliding armrest have a detent about half way in its travel to allow access to the forward most cup holder. This was in an Out of Spec video. This allows my wife access to her big as water bottle in the front cupholder and if I have a drink I don't mind sliding back the armrest since if I'm drinking I'm not resting the arm. That will make my wife happy so that's good enough for.
