I was told it is a recall to all Cayenne BEVs (mine was not even included in the first wave).
I expect its just the last presale update. They wanted to upload the lastest possible version before the cars get to customers.
Thank you very much for clarifying. Should be part of Pre-Delivery Inspection - Technicians connect the car to Porsche diagnostic systems to scan for faults, update software modules, and program the vehicle's keys.

nope... As far as I know this was a special recall. Not the regular presale update/inspection

Just checked, I don't have open recall and PDI will be carried out at dealer next week (car still in transit so nobody would have done the recall). Strange.

Has anyone else in Europe received an estimated delivery or pickup date yet?

It seems like most people getting early deliveries are scheduled for next Friday, which is one day before the official launch (I think). I guess that’s the estimated timeline for the early birds.

I’m mainly curious about this “interesting” software update that’s been mentioned, as it worries me a bit. If anyone has any additional information, please share it.

We’ve been on holiday in Sweden since Thursday, so I haven’t been able to get any updates myself.

My salesperson has no clue, guess I find out on Tuesday or Wednesday.

This is what I posted in an other thread. I like to think this is now part of PDI but others do not share my view at all.

"Thanks to the Cayenne's new electronic architecture, the vehicle software can be installed much faster and more efficiently than was the case with the previous generation. Flashing – the name for the process of updating the firmware or operating system – enables each car to be delivered with the latest software version."

How the hell was Porsche updating firmware before? Flashing is overwriting the embedded software on a control module, like a window motor controller, with new instructions.

Modern auto electrics don't even use control modules rather everything is done with one big brain thus OTA updates are possible for everything.

Porsche can't adopt the Rivian electrical architecture soon enough.

Who came up with the rumour that VW could adopt Rivian's electrical architecture. Would never work for VW with current 12v supplier chain.

Rivian and VW are already working on SSP together... first cars should come within 1-2 years. I`ve already tested (still unseen) the Skoda Peaq few months ago and I saw a lot of new "simply clever" features for new SSP in upcoming new model of Skoda Octavia... There were still on the paper, we were rating them and giving the "customers priority" sorting

That's the idea and that's why VW invested heavily in this joint venture. But like every battle plan, never survives first contact or reality. It's Audi and Porsche pushing back ! I was surprised as well as I thought suboptimal Porsche software gets finally sorted. Someone here or Macan EV forum pointed this out so had a read. Makes sense.

Software Mismatch
Central to the challenges is a mismatch between Rivian‘s software, which is tailored for pure battery-electric vehicles, and Volkswagen’s broader portfolio that may continue to include combustion engine and hybrid models longer than originally planned, according to Manager Magazine.

Just looked at BMW out of curiosity, "Heart of Joy" only planned for electric and hydrogen. My previous comment was a little harsh out of frustration and yes, future mass products like Polo (ID 1 2027) or new Golf (ID 3) will indeed be based on RIVIAN platform/technology but that's not really helpful for us. Current PPE platform likely to stay for longer, but that's just my guess.
