Delayed Cayenne EV production due to global challenges?

I’ve seen on the Macan EV forum that some customers with GTS orders have experienced delays of over a month due to production issues. It’s being speculated that this may be linked to ongoing global challenges. If that’s the case, it likely isn’t isolated to the Leipzig production line and could potentially affect Cayenne EV production as well.

My question is whether anyone with TYD could check if there have been any changes to your estimated delivery date or anything out of the ordinary. My own estimated delivery is currently in June.

Thanks!

My car was moved forward ;-). Just called, maybe May/June delivery. Waiting for response to track progress via app, currently not working.

That is awesome! 👏 I just got an e-mail from my dealership that my production is still on time (week 21), so that feels great as well.

I think they need to get boots on the ground as quickly as possible if they think they have a great product to sell. Otherwise people start to look elsewhere, BMW looks very strong on paper. Colleagues had problems with their Taycans again, they are considering cancelling Macan and Cayenne orders.

I’m inclined to agree with you. The alleged new electric M3, with 800–1000 bhp, looks like real competition for Porsche.

The Cayenne feels like a bit of a make-or-break moment for Porsche in the EV world. If it isn’t a slam dunk, I’m not sure they’ll be able to regain credibility with their customers. That might also explain why the new CEO of Porsche AG is talking about creating a true Ferrari competitor and developing a new hypercar.

Personally, that’s something I’d be very interested in. I really love Porsche’s GT products, and that’s what made them popular in the first place. It would be great to see them stay true to their heritage and engineering competence and continue doing things that aren’t easy to replicate.
