14-way comfort seat vs 18-way sport seat

Are you getting the 14-way comfort seat or 18-way sport seat

Hi everyone,

I’m currently configuring a Cayenne EV and deciding between:

  • 14-way comfort seats
  • 18-way adaptive sport seats

Unfortunately, I don’t have access to demo cars locally, so I haven’t been able to sit in either — which makes this decision a bit tricky.

I wanted to ask:
  • What are most of you choosing between the two?
  • Has anyone here sat in both and directly compared them?

I’m especially curious about:
  • Long-distance comfort
  • Whether the 18-way feels too tight or sporty for daily use
  • Whether the extra adjustability actually makes a meaningful difference

Would really appreciate any real-world feedback, especially from those who’ve tried both.

Thank you

I would like to know as well. 18-way seems identical to Macan EV on images. Can anybody please confirm?

The above question by “CHP” is the key; in my opinion from looking, their bolsters are frame/size wise the same as the Macan EV’s. Since we are all different physically, even those of same weight can of course can come to different conclusions, the size of the bolsters getting in an out could be the biggest downsides to the 18-ways. We went to our dealership before they received their first EV Macan and decided that the 18-way bolster height and protrusion amount was more than we wanted for daily, repeat in-and-out’s. Yet when a CPO Turbo came up with almost no mlies for $25K off we went with it — and its 18-ways. While we LOVE it, my wife who has some flexibility issues still takes an little extra amount of time getting out of our Macan.

Our next Porsche will be 14-ways for sure. YMMV. Point here is that IMO going to a dealership and one trying the Macan 14’s and the 18’s (either ICE or EV) back and forth will get the right answer for one asking the question

I'm not 100% certain but if like other Porsche models the 18-way seats don't have adjustable headrests / restraints but the 14-way Comfort do.

Personally I had 14-way in my Taycan GTS in preference to the 18-way standard Sport Seat for this reason. No regrets. I have 18-way in my 911 and miss the head restraint adjustment.

Try any 14-way vs 18-way and you'll get a good comparison.

Personally, I would always go 14-way and never use the other extra adjustments I have in my 18-way.

Not having the option of making the seat more narrow or wider is an absolute deal breaker for me. I won't buy a modern Porsche unless it has 18-way or sport buckets.
