[US] - Over the Top - the well equipped EV home garage…for those that wish to "over do it"…

14-50 receptacles have to have the neutral connected. The EVSE just won’t use it. No. Wire can be upsized if the terminal it is going to is rated for the size, but the breaker needs to be 50 amps.

Anyone considering move to Lucid Air?

No. I have no need for more range (range isn’t EV’s main problem) and I don’t really have any software problems. And 90% of why I bought a Taycan is for how it looks…so…

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

…okay. But my comment was pointing out how ridiculous it is to compare the weight of two different cars when commenting on whether or not a specific item has any weight savings on a single car in direct response to other people making those claims Your comment has nothing to do with my...

…okay. Not sure what you’re telling me for?

    2020 Taycan 4S vs 2021 Ford Mach-e GT

I use the software very little…and also have very little issues. ? https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/help-i-accidentally-liked-the-pcm.5750/

Scared to ask... anyone tempted by Model S Plaid?

I replaced my 14-way seats in a Taycan with LWB and it still weighs more than a Tesla! Therefore, LWB do not offer a weight savings over 14-way. At least none I can see. Q.E.D. ? ?

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

What a f***cking dumper-fire of a thread… I don’t have the energy for this. I asked my question; I got my answer. You’re all welcome to believe whatever you want.?‍♂️ No harm to me. I’ll be done with this thread now.

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

Who/what are you responding to? Me? What’s your point? Your original post was that it was their market cap. If you’re switching to another metic, please explain.

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I was referencing the statement of Tesla’s validation of the economic viability of BEVs as a premise for the claim of Tesla’s influence on Porsche. Not in isolation. You’re stating Tesla’s current market cap. Is it your position then that it’s not until now that Tesla has validated this? If...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

That’s a somewhat vague statement. At what time (year please) and by what metrics did Tesla accomplish this? ?

    GM Ultium Motors

GM’s using hairpin windings with a mix of induction and permanent magnet motors. It’ll be interesting to see what different manufacturers do and what trends in the coming years. I would guess it’ll continue to be mixes of technology for various trade offs. Manufacturing costs, size, power...

    Other Hobbies

I saw this thread a couple of times before. I’m glad it’s taking off a little more now. Really interesting seeing what all people are into. I won’t list everything, but my main hobby is probably playing music. Guitar and drums mostly. I was in local rock and punk bands for a little over 10...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I know this was in response to someone else, but I pointed out your fallacy here in post #249: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/taycan-turbo-s-vs-model-s-plaid-really-by-this-much.6064/page-17#post-96417 I told you the sales numbers don't prove your argument on their own. They can all...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

But that right there is a step too far. Look, even if everything else you’re saying is correct, knowing A could cause B is not the same as knowing A did cause B. You (and everyone else I’ve seen try to make this claim), is saying because it could have caused it, it did cause it. The argument...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I have checked sales data on EVs. I’ve stated a couple of times in this thread that Tesla’s sales numbers in that time period are insufficient to be the overwhelming factor people claim it is. It’s a soft argument. Leads to a soft conclusion. Which would be fine if people presented it that...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

And that’s the only argument I ever hear. But it’s just…so…soft. Tesla showed it could be done so then Porsche did it? Even if it was taken into consideration and presented to a board…that doesn’t tell us what happens in its absence. First, we have no hard data on when Porsche was taking BEVs...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I had never even thought about it prior to reading various discussions on this forum. Then, the first time I read someone crediting Tesla for the Taycan, my first thought without much consideration was “yeah, that sounds reasonable.” But then I read opposing opinions and I was like, “wait, do...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I for sure didn’t foresee it, but as soon as I got an iPhone 3G in 08, I saw the difference it made. I even bought a MacBook and learned obj-c to jump on the bandwagon. Proud to report low double digit app sales. ? I was on my way to the teens! I had to google phones from that time to remember...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

?‍♂️ Oh, me, me! Pick me! I was dying for a smart phone in 2000. I couldn’t wait for internet in my pocket.? It was between my Junior and Senior year of HS and I was interning at a company that set setup wireless networks in doctor’s offices, gave them HP Jornadas, and had them access a web...
