Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

They’re cars… No. I wasn’t. Nothing about my statement regarding hybrids in 2010 referenced anything about Tesla. ? Yearly sales. C’mon…. Sometimes you reference the Roaster, sometimes the Model S…I guess it’s which ever one best suits your argument at that time. And it does not follow that...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

Oh, Elon decided. I’m glad that Elon taught Porsche that people want to buy cars they “desire and want to drive”. Porsche was clueless about people wanting a car based on “how it drives and feels”. All new territory for them. K…I’ll have to find the link later, but I’m pretty sure Porsche is...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I keep seeing people claim versions of this; not everyone, but enough. …but does anyone have any actual evidence that without Tesla, there would be no Taycan? …or at least an argument that’s not just post hoc? I’m just looking at Tesla’s unit sales leading up to 2015 when the Mission E...

Had an interesting chat with some dudes from Lucid test team

Can’t they just be a pretty face??

Had an interesting chat with some dudes from Lucid test team

? Range is not the problem. Charging rate and infrastructure are the problems. Do you know how many times I thought about range when purchasing an ICE vehicle? Zero. And not because they just all have great range. They don’t. I specifically remember a motorcycle I had around 08 that had less...

Plaid beats Taycan Turbo by 11 seconds around ring... will Porsche respond?

Oh…hmmm. I always thought their cars were ugly, but maybe I just haven’t seen one with all of the parts still on it…??

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I think you’re looking for a solution where there isn’t a problem. I’m not looking to “improve” my current travel. Improve is in quotes as I think you’re optimizing one variable at the expense of others. I’m just not looking to make travel worse, which an EV would do based on current charging...

Plaid beats Taycan Turbo by 11 seconds around ring... will Porsche respond?

But until then…we must all drive our cars in shame!!!?? What really cracks me up is a decent number of us don’t have a turbo or turbo s. I have a lowly 4S. ??‍♂️ I’m even further removed from caring that some car I don’t own went around a track I don’t drive on faster than another car I don’t...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I think 20-30 min every 3-4 hours is optimistic or best case. It’s certainly not what I’ll always get. It’s assuming the stations work, they’re really close to highway, that you get an optimal charge, the time between is dictated by the sparsely installed stations that you have to look up in an...

Plaid beats Taycan Turbo by 11 seconds around ring... will Porsche respond?

But maybe @Dee ’s reaction time is 11 seconds better??!! ? Maybe the Plaid driver will be too distracted watching Netflix.

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

It is. Thanks. Mostly work trips though. Usually fly with the family. Even a couple of weeks ago to go to Atlanta.

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

And I’m agreeing that it happening to them. I saw someone post on Facebook drooling over a Model X this week I’m not arguing that it’s not a desirable car for some people. I’m arguing that it is a desirable car for some people (not me).

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

LOL, I think you’re missing the point that I don’t want to, not would I, currently take an EV on a road trip. When I drive out of town, it’s 6-7 hours straight, 15 min to stop for food, bathroom, and gas, and then back on the road for the next 6-7 hours.

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

Well, we have people arguing that it’s a dream car and that they get thumbs up and all manner of positive affirmation on their purchase. I think it’s a reasonable assumption, if not always correct, that a person who owns a Tesla aspired to it to a greater degree than someone who owns a Camry...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

K…I don’t need a 17” screen. I do almost everything non-work related on my phone. I don’t watch much TV, but what I do is mostly on my phone instead of my (much larger than 17”) TV in my living room even if I’m in my living room… K…I actually don’t play any games. So…guess I’m just missing out...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

No not anything. That’s not at all what I said. But thanks for playing. I don’t think of a Camry or Jetta (or a number of other cars; but not all other cars) as aspirational cars. Maybe they are for some people. I’m not excluding it. I’m just saying that not what I think when I see them. And...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

? I can’t find an emoji that accurately indicates how hard I’m rolling my eyes, so that one will have to do. I don’t want or need to do that on my car’s hardware. I have a phone that does all of those things just fine. Yes I do. On my phone (which is in my car…?). Which I use for those...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I think it is, at least for a lot of the people that actually buy it; and that’s kind of my problem with it. If I see someone in a Tesla, I assume they wanted a Tesla; that they sought out a Tesla. I don’t have the same thought if I see them in a Jetta or a Camry. And that’s why I would be...

Taycan Turbo S vs. Model S Plaid - really by this much!?

I would be embarrassed to tell anyone I owned a Tesla. I would actively hide it until I sold the “vehicle” as quickly as possible and the words were no longer true.

8 Hours at PEC Atlanta Experience - A Review

I did. I figured $50 to lower my potential cost from $10k to $2500 was worth it, especially in that environment and not knowing what to expect. And while I don’t think I was ever in danger of damaging anything, I would still do it again. The only time I was even nervous about it was the first...
