For many small reasons, two important ones being luggage space (the Audi trunk is not small, but impractical) and that I could get a Taycan delivered before Norwegian taxes are getting much higher. And the Porsche drives better, and I have come to prefer the Taycan exterior design, and the interior is a step up in my view (materials, design).

My colors may not be to everyone's liking, but I think they look better in person than in pictures. Green/red/black is a Christmas Special!

Welcome to the club. When I've seen the Audis in the wild I've found them to be pretty understated - in the sense that they blend in very well and don't attract much attention. That's especially true in the more muted colors, like your gray. For some that's ideal, but for the price point personally I like something a bit more unique/striking (even as Taycans rapidly become more common - they still catch my eye in passing).

Amazing seeing them side by side in non-press pictures: the Taycan is streets ahead in styling, especially from the front. The Audi does that Audi ‘thing’ of looking good but a little bit formulaic.

A good move and a good colour choice, congrats! ??

I’m sure it’s only the payed press that say the Audi is better. . . .

Congratulations, great choice and a beautiful GTS. Seems we're shopping at the same dealer... :)

The Audi looks fantastic in person and I prefer the ergonomics on the interior. That said, Porsche has a lot going for it. Welcome to the family…you are officially adopted now ?

Agreed. That’s the thing I love on the eTron GT that I wished the Taycan had - the physical HVAC buttons and all the rest of the center console below the main infotainment screen. And also that the Audi has a center armrest lid cover that isn’t completely half-assed. Otherwise, the Taycan is the superior J1 platform car in every way, especially the overall driving experience.

The vast majority of the comparisons I have seen favour the Taycan.

I preferred part, but not all, of the cabin ergonomics of the Audi when I drove them but not the driving feel - the Taycan was so much better to drive I was shocked, given the drivetrain and suspension are identical apart from software.
Getting an estate car body was enough to trigger an order (I didn't really need a new car)

Thanks! Maybe the ergonomics of some functions in the Audi are better, but the materials are not. Much too much plain piano black. And half-baked design around the instrument cluster in my opinion. I am sure I will be happier with the GTS.

As I said in another reply, maybe some bits of ergonomics are easier in the Audi. But the interior feel is definitely better in the Taycan in my opinion. Have not had long trips in the Taycan yet, but look forward to them and getting more of the driving feel.
Is the steering mechanism really the same? Strange that tuning/software can make so much difference then.
The estate form factor was also decisive for me.

Between the two cars, I would call it a draw as it relates to different half baked designs….both have notable pluses and minuses. As you join the Porsche fam, you’ll find ample posters ready to poo-poo the Audi (and many other brands) by virtue of not being a Porsche. Good luck with the GTS….I am sure that you will find it as eye-catching to stare at as it is engaging to drive.
