Ioniq 5 looks way cooler than the EV6. Did you guys skip Hyundai for a reason?
Love that retro pixel LED look. Seen quite a few in the Bay Area to my surprise.

The pixel design is cool, but the interior, especially with those silver screen bezels are not doing it for me.

The IONIQ 5 looks like a Roomba.
It's a love/hate design for sure. It's fun to me, been trying to track one down at a decent price. Most CA dealers seem to charging big markups (up to $10K) or have a long wait list.

I do also have a Polestar 2 order that's supposed to be delivered in June. Only thing about that one is that it's doesn't really tickle any emotional excitement. Just a nice car with great lease rates.

That's one hell of a hill to die on. This man has convictions!
He does! and he knows it's probably the best EV for a second car, and he likes the car, it's just the whole Mustang name.
We ordered a MME back in August for our daughter. Turns out she likes her current ICE better than expected and so trying to figure out what to do with the MME now that it just hit build stage. My wife is not a car enthusiast and will drive just about anything, however she said no way to driving a Mustang when offered to her even though she really likes how well the car drives. Wonder if Ford is now rethinking that branding strategy?

I think Ford is marketing the Mach E correctly by calling it a Mustang. It dilutes the brand of Mustang to enthusiast like us, but when you think of the most important market like China, it makes a lot of sense. Same with Europe.
Mustang is a very US centric car, but the brand expands beyond this country which will propel Ford's EV strategy globally

why? because you or your wife or child doesn't care for it? really?
no - because what Jen mentioned about her BF and my wife feels the same way- some folks are turned off by the Mustang brand. I get it - on the lower end ICE world they are not the best cars for drivability, build quality etc. And some of us are old enough to remember the Mustang II.

I'm a very happy owner of a Ford F-250 and have owned other Ford products so I'm not bashing the brand and certainly admire the MME for what it is. Just making the point that some folks have a knee-jerk negative reaction to the Mustang brand. It may not be a wide spread prevalent issue and like @Mr.Smith said, probably a global decision.

I wouldn't exactly call the Mustang the lower end of the market - they pull quite a bit of money these days and are put together well. In fact, they have come far enough to demand >$100K in the GT500 category...Im not an American Muscle guy but if I was, they would be on my list.

Mustang hate is lol. Just remove the badge and when people ask what It is just say Ford Mach E.

Seriously, Porsche could have named the Taycan the Porsche Dingleberry and I’d have still bought one.
